With Vieira starting to play 3 central defenders as he did when Kouyate came on yesterday I can see AWB being a huge asset at right wing back. Would also keep Clyne and Ward as backup with Ward able to cover in the middle and left back?

not sure AWB is suited to being a wingback. his attacking is not good enough. right side of the 3 though.. he could excel there.

Has gone backward since he went to Utd. Rumours are that the money has gone to his head, court case etc. We did very well out of selling him, let’s leave it there.
The talk of Ferguson has disappeared, I see he was in the stands yesterday, will he ever make it onto the pitch?

He already has. He's had 1 start and 1 sub appearance this season in the 1st team.

Does AWB have the same desire to play for Palace as Nathaniel Clyne who returned and made a success of his career?

We'll see but anything less and I think it's a no-no.

On a free, sure. For 50m, no way.

What are we actually talking about?

Basically I'm not eager for loads over 10m. A bit, yes.

I saw a fee spoken about somewhere. Something like 22m - if we offered say 17 with add ons to 20-22 mil, they'd pretty much have to take it. Plus the fact that it will negate add-ons they would owe us. They'd be making quite a bit of their money back and we'd make an overall profit. The question for me now would be AWB's attitude. He hasn't looked at the races for a good while.

Personally I think we should spend the money elsewhere, Clyne and Ward will do a reasonable job, maybe, and a big maybe Ferguson will come good, we need players in other positions first, and certainly not for 22 or 27 million whoever you believe

Click bait reporting that Manure are hawking AWB around to any club that is interested. It is not surprising they know we are the club of last resort probably because we want a loan deal so I guess they are hoping for a better offer.

Would love him back here but not if its big money.

Always thought United , paid well over for AWB, that’s now their problem, if they don’t even want to use him.
The United team rarely performed well without AWB, he was definitely not the problem.
It always struck me he was being used far to far forward , when the team around him was not good enough to cover the ground behind him. Just my thought on it.
The kid wasn’t the finished article, fifty million suggests he was, but he still proved to be Uniteds get out of jail card on the numerous occasions his far more experienced partners went missing.
It’s not worth putting big money into him, but a loan to see how he goes might work.

The way we played under Roy suited him.
It was uncomplicated and AWB did an excellent job and was rarely beaten one on one.
Where he didn’t have a direct opponent to mark though he always looked a little unsure positionally.
At Man Utd the requirement of the role was different but he played a lot under OGS and did reasonably well.
It’s only the recent manager who jettisoned him.
I’d be happy for him to come back on loan, but it’s not a priority position for me.
