Yup I will believe it when it happens.

Agreed. You have to wonder why it takes Burnley and Leeds to complain before the FA agrees to investigate. Everton are at least twice over the spending limit and they never even hid this.

The FA has cut clubs some slack due to COVID losses but apparently the amount that Everton are claiming is related to that and therefore not included is significantly higher than any other club. That plus they went on a spending spree in January does seem to indicate an attitude that they don't care.

The reporter who broke the story does not believe anything will happen this season so by the time it does (assuming they are guilty) it will be too late. Another example of a club buying their way out of trouble.

I hope the government presses forward with its independent regulator it is shameful that the FA the "guardian of the game" is so weak and useless.

Yep and who will the PL want to sell their “product “ Everton or Burnley? That is why I feel Burnley will go down as Leeds sell the product more.
Although I can’t stand him, Ashley Barnes was spot on in his interview

Wow...

Burnley concede penalty 0-1 ridiculous error.

Leeds score but VAR rules it out for offside.

I wanted Burnley to stay up out of the three, but eventually if you don't invest it catches up with you, as it probably would have done with us if we hadn't invested. Given the way Burnley's new owners have operated and without Dyche and Tarkowski they may struggle next season, especially if they also lose the likes of Cornet and Brownhill. Leeds have been very unlucky with injuries, but my god their fans are annoying! If Everton don't have their spending cut off then they'll probably throw another £100m+ on updating their squad. With Newcastle also likely to spend big in the summer we can't afford to stand still.

We've still got dirty, gobby Leeds but have lost slightly less dirty Burnley. The dream would have been Everton and Leeds to go but you can't have it all. At least Watford went down (sorry Superhorns).

Does anyone have any sympathy for Burnley?

Small club did well for years with an ageing squad and questionable tactics - reminds me of Palace under Roy!

Now they have 9 players out of contract - 8 of which are over 30. The only decent one is James Tarkowski who will clearly go to a West Ham or Newcastle on a free.

The 2 decent players they have a Comet (who supposedly has a release clause) and McNeil who's had a poor season.

Supposedly they also have to pay back a massive loan.

Not looking good.

In terms of Everton in addition to FFS, what happened to a ban for Richarlison after throwing the flare into the crowd? Surely based on previous ones for Carragher etc that's a definite suspension??
Very strange.
Similarly the behaviour to their supporters - fireworks outside hotels etc - reminds me of the antics before the Wimbledon game about 20 years ago (when Segers surely took a bung to throw the game??). No reporters have mentioned this. As for the pitch invasions - both the club and the FA has been silent.

They strike me as a poor club who had been doing very well with modest but honest means. I think you've raised some very good points there and ultimately it is fair to say 'tis no game for the modest anymore and certainly not the honest.

For footballing reasons on the pitch I'd of loved it to be Leeds, for footballing reasons on the pitch but mostly off it I'd of loved it to be Everton.

I certainly have some sympathy for them.

Whilst I'm here I would like to add is it just me or did that Wieghorst, or however you spell it, only get a single goal and actually missed a couple sitters in their last couple of games which may well have saved them? I thought so but hasn't been mentioned elsewhere?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Read the Wiki of their CEO, she obviously has friends in high places! There is something very strange going on with Everton and what they are getting away with

I was reading an article couple days ago that was saying that for them it gets even worse at the end of next season if they dont win promotion back to the PL - Apparently another sizeable repayment is due on that loan then & the parachute payments diminish, kind of a double whammy on top of all their other problems

Courtesy of their new owners. There is something wrong in allowing people to buy a club using the clubs money. One of the many wrongs that the FA should have banned.
