Not gonna read the whole thread. Without doubt the HF do a lot in terms of creating an atmosphere/enhancing match day experience which most clubs envy. This makes us unique and stand out from the rest - otherwise we’d just be another Leicester/Southampton etc. About time those who sit in silence for 90 mins (the majority) realise this and appreciate we have something special. The ‘spotty teenager’ thing is boring, they’ve been going sine 2005. The club should have discussed it with them as it was obvious they were planning to put on a show… because they always do. I’m summary, they go over and above consistently so deserve preferential treatment when it comes to ticketing etc. And that’s the problem right there, thanks goal machine! As soon as one fan (or group of) thinks they are more entitled than anyone else you’ve got a problem, simple as that. The irony is, it’s this entitlement, their manufactured singing section and their dictation of the songs, banners etc that they think are allowed kills any natural atmosphere and makes them just as ‘plastic’ as any other set of fans.
I'm a little bit backwards |

Not allowed to (in the upper tier). My understanding is that the Club has blocked that unless it is Stewards that hold the banner. So effectively it can only be a club produced banner in the top tier which forces a late change on the fans’ banners set up. I really have no idea what is going on here, apart from ruining the build up to a massive game fir the club. I do not frequent Twitter but my son has advised that, the HF saying they cannot now use the banners destined for the Upper Tier is just an excuse to cover themselves after f***ing up, as there was never going to be anything from them in the Upper Tier

Sounds like something that would be posted in retaliation to me. Perhaps it's true, depends from where the information came. I know there has been an awful lot of work put in

Your sense of entitlement is astounding. Its a multi million pound business we are talking about. I have never heard of any other business of a similar size, that has a forum for mutual exchange of views. I do remember Jordan having a few fans evenings, but not a lot came of that, just moaning. Sainsbury’s has promoted its chief marketing officer Mark Given to the board in a strategic move designed to help the supermarket get closer to its customers. “Starting today, I will be spending more time with customers and listening to their feedback. I am really looking forward to hearing directly from people about what they want from us so we can change and adapt to ensure we are always meeting their needs.”

Given some of the controversial/confrontational slogans that have appeared at SP over the years from the HF, maybe the club and/or Wembley Stadium have decreed 'no banners' on the upper tier to prevent anything 'unsuitable'(for them) appearing on TV across the world..... just a thought! This is most likely. Given that we are playing Chelski, we don't want politics coming into it. This should be about football, not this weeks bleat.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Personally, I'm totally on board with the HFs letter which is extremely articulate and make a number of excellent points. I don't think I could say any more than they already have or say it better. They're 100% correct; what defines the "Selhurst voice" is that it does belong to the supporters and, thus, comes from the heart (even the "castle" display). Thinking they can somehow supersede this is a rare error of judgment from the club itself. Ltd. companies don't speak for individuals, and would be better off not trying to. Just my $0.02s worth. As for what I think of the HF generally, I honestly think you'd have to be an idiot not to realise they've been a massive net plus for the club.
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |

I see Except that there is a display in the lower section. Which won't have been vetted by the Club So why is the upper section different? Because the Club doesn't want to be left out. In a way I feel sympathy for that but it's still tone deaf not to discuss it with those that have ALREADY created artwork on behalf of us all.

He just passed on what he had seen, both of us have no views either way but we do agree this and the ticket debacle has completely taken the shine off the week.
