A not unsurprising result given next week's game. I will be interested to see the team PV fields sans Gallagher. We need energy in midfield on a large pitch, and I'm hoping that the likes of Olise and Mitchell will be fit for the game.

Bad day at the office today. Shining light was Eze who looks like he is regaining some sharpness.

Wasn’t happy with Ward who seemed to spend more time moaning than he did defending.

Personally would have put Schlupp at LB and brought Eze or MacArthur on. Thought Schlupp had a good game tiday

The substitution of Mitchell disturbed the balance of the defence. Ward was inevitably brought on as he is a recognized full back on the bench.

The question is why was he on that bench, when without him we could have put Schlupp at LB and brought Macarthur on at the point.

Never mind, the moment's gone and hopefully Mitchell and Olise are starters next Sunday.

I find it very poor of PV to have Eze sitting on the bench unused for the last 6 Premier games, when he could have getting some match time, the great thing about Gallagher is his engine lets him play as one of the two CMs, letting Eze play the more forward creative role, Gallagher is the Labourer, a good labourer, but Eze is an architect.

The fake head injury looked so calculated that I wondered whether Brendan Rogers actually signalled his players to take such a dive at the next possible opportunity when we were buzzing.

As for Wilf's penalty kicks, I could write a small volume. Given the distinct possibility that the outcome of the Cup match might depend on a penalty kick, what will PV decide to do?

Disappointing result today, but I don't think we should be too surprised or critical of our performance, poor as it was in the first half.

Inevitably there is a great deal of anticipation and thought being given to the semi next week and whilst a point or three would be very welcome, it is not crucial for our continued PL status.

However, there's no doubt that if we play next week like we did today, we can kiss goodbye to any hopes of reaching the final. But, we'll be in with a chance if:

*PV finds another regular penalty taker. Wilf always looks flaky and Luka, although good from the spot, shouldn't be a starter. I'd be very nervous if the game goes to a penalty shoot-out.

*Eze must start. He changed the game after he came on today and he looks more like his old self again.

*We start the game with energy and flair to attack Chelsea from the off.

*We score more goals than they do!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Wait til the last minute of extras time, and then sub on Luka?

At what point did someone say " wow wilf your penalties are amazing!" They are truly rubbish! He never hits right in the corner.

I can remember Leicester bringing on a Goalkeeper against us at Wembley for the penalties, then Claridge shinned one in and broke our hearts

So it's got nothing to do with the players having their eyes on next Sunday?
I think very little of Leicester they are nothing more than mid table. We hardly turned up and still nearly got a result.
Onto next week we will see the real CPFC!

For a mid table team they do very well most seasons, they missed out on 4th the past 2 seasons by a point. They have been a better team than us for about 6 years, we arent at their level yet. Nearly getting a result is another of saying, we lost.

The goalkeeper in question was Zeljko Kalac who is well 'North' of 6 feet.
