You seem incapable of understanding. The point here is that the Woke brigade will bring race into the argument. When Black people stop receiving positive discrimination, indulging in blatant hypocrisy, and refrain from continuously referring to themselves divisively by their colour, then maybe we will stop having these kinds of conversations. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (29 Mar 2022 8.50pm) Nobody other than you brought race into this discussion. You just can’t help yourself.

Here's a funny AIDS joke in a lift: [Link] Treat yourself. 2) Never a fan?! Ha. You can't now suddenly re-invent reality just because a comedian you're clearly a fan of has made far, far more insensitive jokes about disability and the like than someone you claim to be indignant about. You literally posted an entire hour long Jim Davidson routine in a 'Comedy Greats' thread on here . The unfathomable daily reinvention of professed principles. It's vaccine view whack-a-mole all over again. Edited by BlueJay (29 Mar 2022 5.19pm) Ok. 1) I stated in my first post on this thread that I didn't condone the act of violence. The joke you posted isn't funny. However, it isn't offensive either. 2) I am not a fan. Here you revert to your usual modus operandi. Whataboutery (bringing up past posts), followed by a post from a year or so ago, which you misrepresent, and try to paint me as the bad guy. I really can't remember exactly what I posted on that thread, but it was to a request from someone who asked for stand-up comedians. I posted 3 or 4 links to some from bygone days and said they were not great. I can't remember which ones I posted, but I'd imagine JD was one, along with Bernard Manning and maybe Les Dawson, and whoever. I didn't like those either. I liked the Pythons. And Q, with Spike Milligan. So can you please stop making your own version of the truth and presenting it as real? I might not be as polite next time.

Whether it's funny or offensive is entirely subjective. That's the point. A joke we don't personally like isn't an 'in' to physically attack the comedian on stage. You have again completely forgotten your own view and have conjured up a new one. You said "I'm not condoning the slap to the face (I'd have done worse)". So you stated that at minimum you would have punched Chris Rock in the face for a joke about hair. AKA violence. Quote

And Q, with Spike Milligan. You dislike people highlighting contradictions in posts made today, so of course the hilarity of saying that you don't like a comedian (solely because it completely goes against your current point) when you've previously posted an entire hour long routine of theirs in a 'Comedy Greats' thread escapes you. The "and said they were not great" is completely made up just now to prop up a laughable claim. It didn't happen. You're either intentionally making stuff up or a fantasist, as this behaviour is on repeat. What's the point? I don't care what comedians you like, it's just nice when someone claims to hold a view, that they either actually do so that it can be argued against, or that it makes sense in relation to their other opinions. It makes zero sense for you to be suddenly indignant about this comedian's act (when it's tamer than those you very clearly enjoy) or to suggest that violence is an acceptable reaction to it (but not others). Your ephemeral arguments are designed to annoy rather than discuss. To most, assaulting a comedian on stage for making a joke (aka his job) is ridiculous behaviour that there is no excuse for whatsoever. If Will Smith wants to assault comedians for making jokes, he'll now have countless opportunities to do so over the coming months and years. With this joke getting that reaction, God help him unless he wises up. I'll end this back and forth on that note.

Am I incredibly shallow or is this stuff just boring now? Maybe Hollywood has affected me after all. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Mar 2022 1.27pm)

I am merely poking the hornets nest of hypocrisy and stupidity that we now endure, I see Yet my response was merely an observation of fact, hard to understand how it can be silly. Race is always in the conversation thanks to your fixation. I can see you are suffering having to 'endure' so much. You really do have a problem. Genuinely I am sad for you but also it annoys the sh*t out of me how your personal fixation becomes the theme for a whole site. If only you could learn to live with - maybe even sometimes enjoy - differences and just be respectful of the feelings of others. Perhaps try going on holiday overseas sometime and practice that. Qatar has the lowest crime rate in the world, maybe you can go to watch the football. I just wish you would do something, anything, to distract yourself from your continuing pain. Which may stop you BEING such a pain. Edited by Mapletree (30 Mar 2022 1.27pm)

I think you've got a 'cunning plan' on the way
