Connor's goal last night was a sublime piece of skill. His control of Mitchells cross was awesome. At least enjoy his time at the Palace.

Mitchell's cross was awesome. Yes. Another thing that the goal showed is how important it is to get extra numbers in the box. CG plays the role well.

Mitchell has come on leaps and bounds in the last 3 or 4 matches. Cut out the silly defensive errors he occasionally makes and he is going to be a top full back.

As for Gallagher, I reckon he could be the next Lampard. Not many midfielders make goal scoring look as easy as him. The space and time he created with that first touch was as good a piece of skill as anything I have seen this year.

Hope you noticed last night, how Roy always left our team exposed at back post. Now hes doing it at Watford, hence the tactics employed last night

It’s a narrow drift defence, the full back gets sucked across to assist the centre backs and the far post ball inevitably finds acres of space. Totally agree that this is why we shipped goals under Roy and to be fair our two full backs this year have been guilty of doing the same under PV. If you have total confidence in your central defensive partnership you can then keep a closer eye on players attacking the far post.

Although Anderson is a great footballing CH he doesn’t inspire much confidence in the air and Guehi isn’t that big which puts pressure on our goal keeper to command his area which neither Guaita or Butland do. I do worry that Burnley will exploit this.

Agreed. Never seen a low bullet like that before. But was it more luck than judgement?
Of course not!!! It was pin perfect.

It's not just Conor's football that I'll miss when he leaves, it's also his charming personality.

He genuinely seems to enjoy his time with Palace and his post match interviews are a delight. Last night's joint interview with Guehi is a gem.

Great footballer and a lovely bloke. Boy, we're going to miss him.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

A touching and accurate elegy, however he has not gone yet and Chelsea may not be able to keep him if Roman is affected! Perhaps one good thing might come out of this, to see a skint Chelsea would be hilarious, plus there will be a lot more 'fans' back on the market we might be able to exploit for financial gain - would have to clean up the bogs in the Arthur however.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

This is bonkers, CG is CHELSEA's (& ours) leading goal scorer this season . . . [Link]

Indeed. He will become another Loftus-Cheek at Chelsea. I’d love him to stay but I guess we just enjoy it while it lasts.

I think if we get a win at burnley, which I am confident on, I would reduce Gallagher to the bench and cup matches for the main part, with 10 games to go, all but safe, I would prep for next season and also focus on that cup...

Gallagher is on borrowed time, he did his job, he's fantastic.... he helped the team achieve status in this league and give us great options for the cup, but there's no point using him til may at the detriment of one or two.

phasing him out, is natural as long as the team is better long term for it.

I get it, highest position is cash, but it's about seeing who we have. Eze is one I would give more game time to.

100% correct, Gallagher is an outstanding player but will never be ours, In my Opinion Eze is better when he gets back to match fitness, and the Gallagher role is made for him, he will score and create in that role, and he is ours, that's why i started this thread
