It may or may not affect us, only time will tell but there is something suspicious about the whole deal. Still presumably no one had to take the knee now, at the insistence of the PL, as the PL have shown that discrimination is ok, providing it is not in the UK Absolutely. If we needed any proof of the hypocrisy in football this is it. Let’s hope the next time Newcastle take a knee they are greeted with mocking laughter.

Angry Premier League clubs demand emergency meeting on Newcastle deal. Other 19 clubs united in opposition to Newcastle takeover Good to see that at least. I wonder whose squawking the loudest, the big 6? typical bullies don't like it when a new kid arrives in the playground.

I agree but nothing will happen. There has to have been some deal done with PL, as I cannot see any difference now to when it was rejected. The Premier League having documents redacted, when a sovereign state is involved, backs this up, surely.

They don't like competition so this is faux outrage. This deal started at least 1 year ago why did they not change the ownership rules? maybe because some of the existing owners wouldn't pass? So they wait until the deal is completed before complaining? This should never have happened if they had a proper fit person test. Ownership test Q1. Have you ever ordered the murder of someone you disagreed with? Q2. Do you enshrine in to law discrimination against sections of your own population. etc. Edited by Badger11 (09 Oct 2021 10.25am)

Paper talk about Zaha and Newcastle. It makes sense for them, not us of course. They will want to make a statement in January for their fans however most of the big stars wont move until next summer but they need something now. Newcastle are a poor side so if you were Lionel Messi you wouldn't want to sign now but wait until the overall quality improves and they have a top class manager. Zaha is available and has the magic that the Toon army will love, Outside of the top 6 its his best chance of joining a big club and being at the start of something. I hope he stays of course.
