3-0 Definitely flattered them. I can take a 3-0 a lot better if we have a go than if we sit back for a whole game, which we would of under you know who. We missed a sitter at 1-0 and they scored a wonder goal, onwards and upwards. BTW as much as we love a youngster coming through we definitely need an upgrade at left back.

I'm usually harsh on Mitchell, but I thought he played very well today. One sketchy play, but the rest he looked solid against a world class side.

Meh.... It is what it is. Jairo was shocking, personally I've had enough of seeing Benteke, just looks out of his depth at Premier league level now. Looks more and more like a slow, journeyman. On the positive side of things, I thought Mitchell was outstanding, all facets of play he impressed me massively. Equally I thought bar one terrible shot, and losing his head at the end Ward had a brilliant game also. Gallagher was quieter as you'd expect but still a top performance from his inspired volley right at the start to a brilliant workrate. As a team I thought we had energy and drive. Even at the end we were buzzing around trying to make things happen and rarely looked outclassed.

As others have said 3-0 is a bit of an unfair reflection of the game. What is most obvious is against the better teams you need a bit of luck and to take your chances. We were unlucky not to get a pen for Benteke in the first half and really should have equalised at 1-0. Bit rubbish to be on the end of an undeserved score line but we go again.

How did Milner finish the game without a booking? At one point he laughed, probably at the fact the referee consistently let him foul Zaha and Mitchell. I know we've given Wilf some stick of late (before the Spurs game) but refs this season almost need a player to assault him before he gets a free-kick; at the end of the game PV seemed to be bending the refs ear, I imagine to do with some questionable decisions including allowing Liverpool to foul our players every time we broke without a booking. Ayew once again looked solid, but about as threatening as a chihuahua with no teeth. Wilf looking really hungry again. Second half we worked our way back into the game and Mitchell was motm for me putting Salah in his pocket. Sadly Jairo completely switched off for their second and VG failed to catch the ball for their third. Overall Liverpool deserved it, but things didn't go our way, including a penalty for a foul on Tekkers in the first half. We gave it a go but in the end they just had that extra bit of quality.

Liverpool was starting to hang back. We were starting to apply pressure. It was feeling like we were going to have a few chances to tie the game. The Riedewald comes in, and a minute later, he inexplicably forgets to cover Salah. 2-0. Game over. After that, Riedewald tried hard. But I'm sorry, he blew any chance we had. Not good enough. We have a glut of players that can play ahead of him, he goes to the end of the line after that performance today.
