As someone said on the radio this morning - if it was an annual football event where people were killed and stabbed and many arrests were made for drugs, sexual assault, violent crime etc then it would be banned.
Now I accept that Euro 2020(21) was a nightmare but the Carnival - or carnage as it is better known - gives rise to an increase in crime year on year so why isn't it banned?

Yeah, and someone else said ,if it was a st georges day parade and the police were dancing along-would they be seen as wokey cokies by the head in the sand to the real issues righties?Or is that acceptable?

When did you last see a St George's day parade?
Perhaps in Georgia but presumably the Russians don't like it.

Maybe St Patrick's though? Everyone likes that.

Fair enough, but you get the point- people are picky to suit their agenda, lets say a royal jubilee event like last year- or was it this year? Basically- police waltzing with old grannies in the mall or clapping along with the crowd- i"m not adverse to the carnival being moved to hyde park or wembley stadium- but theres lots more pressing issues that people could focus on than the carnival and police dancing ! We could have inflation at 22% next year- and we have liz trusty in charge-one of the thickest pms ever- well- not one of-the thickest!

Wow you’ve shoehorned the Tory party and inflation into the carnival thread.
That takes some doing bearing in mind all you wanted was boris out !

No worries mate. I do remember St George's being a holiday, then it being a half day closing kind of a thing, then nothing. So I guess it is kind of funny that the Notting Hill Carnival highlights black culture, yet no way would there be a St George's Day parade.
To tell the truth, someone would probably attack it.

I don't quite think grannies at the Queen's things attack each other, but you probably do get the odd death. Particularly on a hot day. They could have a Meghan v Kate argument and hit each other with brollies perhaps.

I don't see much wrong with that. I enjoyed it.
