Just here to celebrate Dougie, PV, SP, and whoever helped get this over the line. Came up pretty quickly, and got done quickly --so nice to not get him snatched away! Very good omen for PV's start.

See he was at Man City before Reading which. Is probably where PV spotted him. £8M looks a snip and he’s only 19.

I think it’s wishful thinking regarding this being a PV signing. The club have been watching him for over 12 months and we’re interested in him last Jan. Hes not a PV signing…he’s a DF signing. I’m certain PV had to give his blessing of course, but he hasn’t put this deal together like some are suggesting.

Looks like a great signing! Though it made me smile as you can read around the internet "here's PV first signing". Steve Parish: "We have been monitoring him extremely closely for an extended period of time, and have been impressed by his consistent performances for Reading at such a young age." Patrick Vieira: "We have the tools in our football club to make him a better player, and we’ve known him quite well because he’s a player the football club have been following for a long time." So basically... it has nothing to do with PV...

I get people are excited that we have a new manager but this IS NOT a PV signi g and hasn't signed cos of PV. It has been in the pipeline for a while. If you watch the vid on the club website you can see how leading the question to Olise is regarding PV's influence in him signing. That's all PR by the club trying to foster trust and positivity from fans towards PV

Well I assume his agent was holding off on signing the deal until the new Manager was known. So while Dougie got the deal in place, I'm sure PV helped, or even sealed the deal (and stopped another teams swooping in --it sounds like there was many teams interested, and why not at 8M)
