The kneeling is for the ‘No Room for Racism’ movement, they distanced from BLM many weeks ago I wonder what reason we can find not to support it now. How about 6 months into a global pandemic putting hundreds of thousands in danger of losing their livelihood there are other priorities?

I’m fairly sure the people saying they won’t watch football because of kneeling or will only turn on once the game starts aren’t now going to spend that time donating to Covid causes - that seems a stretch.

How about it being the biggest load of waffle I've ever heard. Blacks and minorities are actively given legs up rather than being kept down. The system promotes them and favours them over a meritocracy approach. It's middle class white liberals in charge pathetically living out their imagined white guilt and virtue signalling who actually work against equality and enact the bigotry of low expectations upon anyone who isn't white. Minorities are being given jobs as a tick box requirement instead of being the best person available.....you only have to watch the crap comics on 'have i got news for you' to see how obvious it all is. The real racism is being directed at working class whites by middle class liberals who demonise them and romanticise BAME. But take a more factual statistic of how white working class boys on free school meals are doing in society to see the real rubbish and lies over 'systemic racism'. This has been going on for years now but do we get any virtue signalling over that I ask? No we don't....wrong skin colour and it doesn't equate to a virtue signal to their peer group. I hold the white middle class liberals and that includes many modern day Tories in utter contempt.....but carry on supporting the lies, by all means. So change the movement name and call out the remainder for what it is, as you yourself have written. I dont doubt it started with all the best intentions and ideals but has been hijacked. As I wrote I would doubt many on here are for racism. When the blm has two divisions within itself why would I support it when one is good and one is bad. Well the movement and the organisation are separate so it’s not really two divisions within itself. Kick it out I believe is doing work in England but black lives matter (the movement) is more world wide so I imagine that it is being supported as more people around the world know what it is than they do kick it out. The kneeling was originally done as a protest against racial injustice and is now done more in sport in support of this.

So, are you saying, that WE, the British People, still have to 'take the knee' for a drug taking, woman abusing, low life scum that was AMERICAN? WTAF has it got to do with us in the UK? This has nothing to do with 'racism' in the UK, we are a totally different country, we tollarate far more than most countries. Keep polItics OUT of sport. We got enough going in the world/our country, than some t*** in the USA. Will the US take a knee for Sgt Ratana? Sorry, rant over(grr)

It was originally done by Colin Kaepernick before NFL games during the playing of the national anthem when it’s traditional to stand and has greater symbolism in America than it does here.

Sorry, rant over(grr) Well racism doesn’t just happen in America it is a world wide issue and taking the knee is athletes who have a large platform showing that they are in support of the battle against racism. Hunger in some countries is a massive problem around the world but is not the same level here, but by your logic because it isn’t as big a problem in the UK we should not care about it. And there was a minute silence for Sgt Ratana today and last week Also how is he a low life scum? Edited by Shifty97 (03 Oct 2020 7.33pm) Edited by Shifty97 (03 Oct 2020 10.48pm)

Yes racism may be less of a problem than it has been but it is still a problem. People don’t really use the slave trade to illustrate the problem of racism it’s more these days the events that happen and the opinions that people have of ethnic minorities. Racism was called out under Obama but less large organisations were taking a stand against it. And it’s not all because a villain got arrested on camara, it’s because of the way he was handled despite not resisting arrest
