A double edged sword here, UEFA 'need' the revenue, but, will save shed loads by not paying out to comp' winners etc I personally believe that a lot more Govts will decide how sporting events are decided. NOW, how much pressure is put on them by sporting bodies & more importantly, TV influences them, remains to seen. Can you imagine the fallout from the scoucers if the government deny Liverpool the title?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Think how much loserpool will hear it. I’m gonna enjoy it. Edited by Rudi Hedman (29 Apr 2020 11.45am)

Things don’t look good after the infection rate in Germany has gone up after releasing lockdown. I suppose the premier league have to show they’re trying to get the league finished for legal and financial reasons with sky etc ready to sue. The government banning football will possibly save them. And I really can’t stand uefa watching this unfold.

Exactly what I was thinking. They don't want to upset Liverpool, Man U etc. The French wanted to carry on till the Government stepped in.

That basically stops games for two weeks. Also how can they social distance at a corner or build a wall at a free kick.

Let's face it: Social distancing will be with us for at least another 7 months AFAIK. Combine that with the fact that players are insisting on full pay while being idle. The one conclusion?
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

Players are required to wear masks or snoods at all times. Is this while they train and during matches? Completely impractical. From Aguero’s comments about players being worried about their families it doesn’t sound like they’re going to be confined to a hotel together. It all sounds ridiculous and to me waiting for the government to ban it and save the premier league from legal action. Edited by Rudi Hedman (01 May 2020 8.57am)

Football without a live audience WILL work - in as much as it will allow the matches to be played and season-end winners and losers decided. This is the best option from a business and planning pov as it ties everything up, sponsor/partner contracts are fulfilled etc. However I really don't want this to happen to p1ss the bin-dippers off. It would be fantastic to watch them collectively lose their s*** over it.
