If you scroll down the interview linked below, Murray himself confirms that, on his return to Brighton for the second spell, his family were settled there and his children at school there. It seems somewhat unlikely that he moved his family to Brighton whilst playing at Palace, Bournemouth and Reading in advance of the possibility he may go back there: When he left for Palace he left his flat. I'm not sure where he went or what happened after that, but I'm pretty certain he did leave Brighton and there were even stories on this board about people talking about him visiting Brighton on nights out while he was with us. Anyway, I don't really care where a player lives, who they support or any other outside interests if they produce the goods on the pitch. As I said, I'm not advocating a move for him, I was just saying I'd prefer Murray to Tosun on a short-term basis.

Cenk Tosun it is then on loan with view to permanent signing also in for Chalov. Hearing that Batsman could be part of deal for Zaha that will take place in summer. Benteke looks like he is heading to Club Brugge again could be Jan but more likely summer. Summer Squad will look very different especially from an attacking point of view. Edited by dazza (04 Jan 2020 5.28pm) Well that's a bit slow even by Palace standards. Posted 'on the way' on the 4th Jan. What, is he walking here from Liverpool?

Why would someone prefer Nurray to Tosun? Beyond nostalgia and the fan misjudgement that comes from watching Murray in 100 matches more than actually watching Tosun, there would be nothing a person could say to make a case for Murray being better. Murray- 35 years old, his feet are old, can't really come back fast or press anymore, if we exclude penalties in the last 2 years he doesn't even have that good of a tally for Brighton- 17 goals in 5200 minutes in the PL and 5 goals in 350 minutes in Cup.matches. Cenk Tosun-28 years old, Turkish international and top scorer for his country, can run a lot, 9 goals and 3 assists in 2300 minutes in the PL (almost as much as Murray in 5100 minutes!!), 1 goal and 3 assists in 200 minutes in Cup matches, 11 goals and 5 assists in the meantime at international level (since he came to the PL, not even counting how much he scored for Turkey or in the Chanpions League before that). Cost 22 million 2 years ago, now he's to come on LOAN with just a 10 million option (if this guy is right. Now that's awesome business for a player like Tosun!

And he looks like a Turkish Murray, both got shocking snide barnets. Could we get him but put him in a Murray shirt and say that he has liver problems? Would get the fans on his side.

With all due respect, I don't care how many transfers there have been across the league. We have known since the beginning of the season we were massively short in the squad, especially at full back and attacking positions. Following that, we have spent December and the start of this month with a huge number of injuries to first team players. We will also have a bench of kids on Saturday. The club has known and had months to plan purchases and there is not a single reason that deals could not be tied up before the window. Liverpool managed to sign Minamino before the window and register him on 1st Jan. It is criminal that we haven't signed at least a right back to date and negligent from the board if they don't sign anyone before the weekend. We took an advance on the AWB money so there should be money to spend and it's not fair on Roy to be so poorly backed. My thoughts exactly ,the lack of squad improvement since the American involvement leaves one believing that original thoughts that no good would come of it were correct .

I honestly think buying benteke and sakho has left a bad taste in the yankees mouths (which I can’t really blame them for) so over cautious from them is clearly the order of the day for each and every transfer window
