I wouldn’t pay good money to watch this group of mercenaries. The players are overpaid, fairly hopeless and are just looking after themselves. I hope we go down to the championship where the football is more end to end rather than our current park the bus mentality. Football is meant to be a form of entertainment. Spot on. Agents must have their players best interests at heart when they see a sucker chairman...

I can answer two of your questions. Bamford was the top scorer in the Championship and was deemed worth the risk but it didn't work out. Our defence is ridiculously fragile in terms of injury and experienced cover is definitely going to be needed at some stage of the season

Our defence is ridiculously fragile in terms of injury and experienced cover is definitely going to be needed at some stage of the season Gone for a shorter version. There is an underlying reason. Bamford LOANED in. 5-6 forwards here. Murray loaned out instantly. Then sold. A year later Benteke bought. A year later FDB and then Roy hired. Cahill imo will be a good signing, for a while, for another ageing player we’re in a cycle of signing. The chance of evolving the team with Zaha cash is possible, yet we’re extending Benteke’s contract. Same s***. We’ve done nothing innovative or strategically clever for a number of years. Nothing sustainable or to build on. Just bodges and patch up jobs, yet with the chance to make a change of direction we’re going to do it again with Benteke. Parish, DF the lol DOF and Brighty would be laughable if I wasn’t cpfc. No wonder there’s no buyer interest or main stand coming. Edited by Rudi Hedman (24 Aug 2019 1.08pm)

We did know that Tomkins was injury prone when we signed him. It was an opportunity to sign a quality player on the cheap.

I agree but all at the same time and over 3 years, let’s face it we haven’t signed any quality or not enough quality for a while now. Selling AWB has been a major bollock drop...

I was only thinking the other day about being a supporter and the issue of loyalty. There are those of the opinion that you cannot claim to be loyal unless you are willing to watch the club through thick and thin e.g be at Selhurst on a wet and windy night for a League 1 match against Gillingham. I have the greatest admiration for anyone who does that but does it entitle them to throw the old cliches at others of being a plastic or "snowflake"(as an earlier hero did) if you don't? To me that smacks of being holier than thou. I believe to an extent that a club has to earn the loyalty of the fans. I will always be Palace but that doesn't mean I feel obliged to go to every home game or to renew my season ticket every year. If you feel your club (not just Palace)is being badly run, or the players don't appear to be that committed, or the standard of football is dross, then people should not feel any guilt at deciding to stay at away. I have a season ticket again this year - I mention this not to brag but just to position myself as currently being "loyal" but also understanding those who have decided to take some time out. I also think some fans stop going because they find it just too painful to be disappointed so often. I had plenty of miserable Saturday evenings last season thanks to Palace, and I am pretty sure if I hadn't had a season ticket I would have skipped a few games. It's an expensive business attending football, particularly Premier League games, and I see no reason why supporters shouldn't be selective in what they watch.
