Supposedly only 1 win in 8 from our friendlies and that would be at the Aston Gate graveyard which I was away from in Bristol !! . Again a week from the opening of the season and we look a shambles. At least we are consistent, lol. COYP !! Edited by Booted Eagle (03 Aug 2019 9.33pm)

No idea but would anyone else do any better with a squad as thin as this? We had 14 first team players available to pick from today. Add Zaha, Kouyate, Tomkins and Sakho and that makes 18 first team players. Where is Sorloth today? All together than means we have 20 in our 25 (adding an extra for new GK Henderson) Has a premier league team ever started a season which so few players? I am aware my post kind of went off topic haha but I think the real issue here is, we have no players and no depth. We are 2 players away from an injury crisis before the season starts with the transfer window still open. Spot on, our squad looks as thin as an anorexic cigarette paper.

Maybe at last this is the wake up call that the Muppets who run us, .need to make a serious decision, invest and survive or do a Sunderland. Does anyone seriously think we will survive in the championship with our current squad less the 8/9 who will leave. Goodbye premiership dream

You understand that is a good thing1 The bigger the odds the less the perceived chance of happening Originally posted by A1969Eagle
Apparently our odds for relegation have just got BIG, a seaweed fan has just message to me say he got big odds...

We are currently at @ 9/2 5/1 for relegation which would have us finish 12th to 14th. Your post is bizarre, either you are a troll or an idiot. Or an idiot troll most likely [ quote=A1969Eagle;3461536] Apparently our odds for relegation have just got BIG, a seaweed fan has just message to me say he got big odds...

Gonna try some salient analysis amidst all this justified comment and concern. My thoughts from the game. First half, set up as a 442. Guaita had nothing to do all half until making a superb save off what looked a certain goal. That save lead to a corner from which they scored a very jammy deflected goal. Imho, we were unlucky to go in behind. Second half was a major disaster however. While we had some semblance of shape in the first, Roy tore that apart, dropping the ineffectual Macca to a strange, deep inside left, putting Luka back to just in front of the back four and floating Townsend god knows where. Basically, we had no shape, no outlet and no creativity whatsoever. Meyer was absolutely w@n£, losing the ball every single time he got it. When we did create something, headers from Benteke (2), Ayew and an open goal opp for Jimmy Mac, were all wasted. Hertha swarmed all over us with fresher, fitter players in the second half and we failed to change anything. There was no leadership or reaction on or off the pitch which is a massive concern. I've never not wanted a season to start as much as this one!

I've never not wanted a season to start as much as this one! A good summary. I turned to my friend after 30 minutes of the match and commented how average I thought Herta looked. At the time we had the lions share of possession and still looked as though we might nick a goal. The second half was awful, but, it has to be said, something of a mirror image of what we saw at home last season. And, why didn't RH use more subs. earlier? It was only a friendly. Apart from Hennessey coming on at half-time, we didn't see Wickham till 75mins, and Dreher and Perrick till the 83rd minute.
