The league is not one we should be looking at to replace Zaha! Bolasie got a goal every three games for Anderlecht and yet he got 1 in 11 for us. Yes we may unearth a gem... but we may end up with another Sorloth or worse.

Surely with the money from the sale and reduced wage bill (hopefully summer window) we could get one player from a relegated side and an additional signing.

Southampton - Redmond?
Watford - Deulofeu?
West Ham - Anderson or Antonio?

and I believe Ziyech has a buyout clause of £25M?

Young guy and with a reported bad attitude. Has clashed at times with manager Ladislau Boloni. I think his red card cost them the Europa League journey. They were better than Alkmaar but ended up playing with 9 men.

He can still grow, he's about 22-23. Very tall winger (1,90 cm I think, I might be wrong)

Zaha's replacement -- and indeed whether he goes -- depends how many points we have in mid-Jan. The more we have, the easier it will be to sell him and the less pressure we'll be under to have a ready-to-go replacement.

Edit: Obviously he needs to play well between now and then so that a credible bid comes in. And obviously somebody has to want him, which is uncertain.

We'll probably end up replacing him with someone like Michail Antonio for £20m and £90k a week

There were claims a few days ago that we had a 30m bid turned down in the summer. I like him and think he would do well for us given his pace and power, but given his age I would steer clear as our squad is already old and Spam would probably demand over the odds.

Ollie Watkins seems like a better investment to me, if Wilf goes, as it would also leave us money to strengthen in other areas, plus he can play on the wing or up top. Perhaps more like Andros in his directness, but is quick and fairly tall, which I think would suit our style.

The hard part with wingers is recognising the substance over the style, with many having the party tricks, but fewer having the end product. Personally I would like to see us get the replacement in January to bed in ready for Wilf's inevitable departure in the summer.

Why does Ollie Watkins seem such a good investment to soo many people? Just cause he has tricks?

The guy costs a fortune compared to other players actually playing in top leagues.

English Championship prices are so inflated that I can't see ANY good deal coming at a 20 million price for a guy who just hasn't really been that much "on fire" except when playing as center forward (and he's not even established in this position)

Disagree, you just need to be early in going for your targets and accept you may have a few mis***s with young players before unearthing that germ.

Ziyech will never ever sign for us, regardless of money. At the moment he is the stand out player here in Holland and he fancies himself top of Europe. Chelsea or Spurs if they came knocking perhaps yes, but no way he would come to Selhurst.

Lookmab from Everton has to be the answer. Rumour is £20 million for a 21/22 year old has to be good bussiness.

I like the look of Todd Cantwell at Norwich but no idea what they'd want for him and if he'd be interested in a move.

I would of agreed a year or 2 ago about possibly unearthing a gem but not in the same window Wilf departs!

Well his release clause is now £45m so out of the question, but it seems he is on around £43k per week, do you not think he would for double that?
