It's been a benefit to all, it's progress and your idea of going back to over-regulation is just regressive. _______________________________________________________ Probably hasn’t been such an advantage to the locals who’ve seen accomodation being taken by thousands of old codgers in increasing need of medical attention.

This is a graph showing the net migration into this country since the seventies. Note the massive increase in foreigners coming here once the Blair government came in......EU treaties took this country from manageable population levels to what we have now. The painfully obvious need to leave the EU is there for all to see. However, even bigger work needs to be delivered on non EU immigration.

Blair/Brown. Traitors. Liars. Turncoats. I remember the London that existed before these two crooks. It seems a distant memory.

Not government policy but being members of the EU and abiding by freedom of movement which we took advantage of and was a huge boon to our economy, during which we had sustained levels of growth, driven by a strong economy, not possible without the workforce to do it. The argument that Britain benefited economically by increasing immigration only holds for the EU part, we lose money on non EU immigrants. Again, the argument that increasing population levels to enhance GDP is also a busted argument on several other fronts.....notably that the UK was one of the largest economies before this increase in numbers and that hasn't improved over any other country....we are still the fifth/sixth largest. Secondly, increasing numbers to improve GDP doesn't show the cost to infrastructure and the public sector on schools, NHS, prisons and all the rest of it.....it's a false argument. Thirdly, immigrants get old too and by allowing in larger numbers we have just increased the pension and general welfare burden that requires ever and even greater incoming workers to pay it......It's a ponzi scheme as anyone with any sense who has thought about it knows. Lastly, I'm going to quote from the Bible here....because though I'm an agnostic atheist I was raised a Methodist and I come from the Christian tradition. 'For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?' (Mark 8:36) I would just change the 'soul' to country. Edited by Stirlingsays (23 Mar 2019 11.09pm)
