So many artisan gins around these days, I was reading about an elephant dung based gin the other day. The problem is that the explosion of artisan gins doesn't mean that they are all nice and many of them are not. I have over 40 different bottles of gin and many of the I don't like at all and they tend to the ones made from unusual bases. I read about the elephant dung gin but none of the articles were written by anyone who has tasted it and I can't imagine it to taste nice. As this thread is supposed to be about smoking I'll have to wonder if anyone has included dog ends as one of their botanicals

And that's cancer alone. I'm sure we all have family members with COPD and losing limbs due to messing up veins isn't even remotely rare.
It's simple to just say, 'I'm going to smoke because I want to and I'm addicted, and I'm willing to take any health implications on the chin and any misery or illness smoking brings my family due to me wiping out my own health is tough sh!t because smoking is my number one'. That's the reality for addicts of anything. That's 'getting real'. All of this dragging healthy people dying young into it or imagining yourself potentially getting stabbed or run over as reason why you should light up and abuse your own health is just cobbled together justification for a cr@p health choice. Addict mentally in full force.
Look i know how bad it is and know the dangers.

Completely correct, the overall cost is utterly impossible to amount because there is no cut off point ..no dividing line, when somebody dies early through any illness brought on by self means it will effect the whole family set up, earnings, pensions etc and mental issues through struggling without a loved ones help and support is huge and cannot be amounted with money very accurately. If anything knowingly poisoning yourself especially today with all the understood information is very irresponsible because when illness strikes people always expect to be helped by the NHS or privately if affordable ..people are not fully aware of the need for more professional help with doctors and nurses and the enormous cost that that is, look at the mess now after the reduced police force and spending plans, Mrs May has just pumped huge amounts back in to try and fix the mess that she actually helped with ministers in reducing it although at the time the police stated very clearly that problems will arise, money folks and money is going to kill the NHS, especially now with stupid brexit, how the hell are we going to cope on our own!

We are not talking you down or patronising you ..far from it, everyone is in a sinking boat and hopefully you will at some stage cut down and stop like I managed to do but, living is stress ..stress is living and coping with it is one the reasons we are writing on here.

Look i know how bad it is and know the dangers. Once addicted the need for nicotine causes stress, which is then lessened when someone smokes. So it helps with stress caused by smoking in the first place. From what I've read vaping is the best way to quit, and it at least isn't smoking as such and cuts out a lot of the other chemicals present in cigarettes, so best of luck with it if that's the route you go!

I appreciate there is no proof it is better/worse that cigs but with no tar or carbon monoxide, surely it can't be any worse (and far cheaper). Your point about being more addicted is a valid concern. I vape quite liberally now although my nicotine intake is still quite low. Next step is to drop to 0%. I will warn you it is addictive and very enjoyable, very easy to carry it with you and use all the time. If you do move to vaping, be a considerate one like me. I don't use it when close to others as the clouds are pretty anti social. I regularly see c*nts vaping with people right behind them, being totally clouded in vapour. Good luck Thanks for the post. I will have to give this vaping lark a try.

Genuine question. Why are so many people so concerned about the wellbeing of smokers? Why not warn gamblers or fast food customers or mountaineers? It’s not like we don’t know the potential danger so why keep on about it? Yes the NHS would apparently benefit but not as much as if alcohol was banned so why not issue health warnings to people who enjoy a drink. Who, by the way, are not all addicts.
