It's just that myself and the vast majority of Palace fans were either at the game (I was) listening to it on the radio or trying to watch a dodgy stream on the laptop while you post some rubbish to the News & Politics section in the belief others might wish to engage on a Saturday afternoon!! And you profess to be a Palace fan?

I get it, but let's be frank. If Black people had built the Pyramids or had a civilization like ancient Rome for example, they would have a major place in history and lots of exhibits in museums.

As things are, I can understand that there might be less headline grabbing history related to Black people that might deserve airing and might be interesting, especially to Black people.
The trouble is that when you start labeling something 'Black history' and 'Black history museum' the obvious accusation is of double standards and racism.
White people can't have White museums without being accused of being racists or 'White supremacists' and all the usual outrage stuff. Truthfully, only a White supremacist would want a White only museum because normal people just don't think like that.

That is why having a 'Black' museum also seems rather inappropriate to most people.

A derogatory term for a white person, but not racist?

I believe the term comes from a comparison of an angry white person's face to a side of gammon.

It's the equivalent of referring to a black person as a chocolate face, which I'm sure we all agree is offensive and racist.

Both derogatory, both target skin colour, both food based...

Yet one is racist, and one not?

If there's one thing nobody respects it's judging others by a standard that you don't apply to yourself.

Are you saying that you can apply the slur gammon to black people as they could be considered over cooked or stained gammon? Like they're actually white on the inside?

Isn't that a slur in itself? Like calling someone a choc-ice.

That's the thing about the type of person who thinks it's not racist to call someone Gammon: they don't understand prejudice, because despite their bleating they're ignorant.

Imagine thinking in those terms? You can cure gammon to be black, and black people are black, therefore Gammon is universally insulting and therefore ok...

I cannot believe that as a society self respect has reached such an epic low that a white person can call another white person a derogatory name based on their colour, and MEAN it with hatred, and still avoid absolutely all self awareness on the matter.

Get a grip.
