Get a brain cell. It's just that myself and the vast majority of Palace fans were either at the game (I was) listening to it on the radio or trying to watch a dodgy stream on the laptop while you post some rubbish to the News & Politics section in the belief others might wish to engage on a Saturday afternoon!! And you profess to be a Palace fan?

Have a peanut for repeating it. I was at the Burnley game in 79 as a ten year old and have been posting on the Hol for nearly ten years. Take your 'no true Scotsman' dim witted fallacies to someone dim enough to believe them.

If Black people had built the Pyramids or had a civilization like ancient Rome for example, they would have a major place in history and lots of exhibits in museums. As things are, I can understand that there might be less headline grabbing history related to Black people that might deserve airing and might be interesting, especially to Black people. That is why having a 'Black' museum also seems rather inappropriate to most people.

Yeah....and the 'n' word only refers to a certain type of criminal black person nowadays...so we can use it without offence then? Or are there double standards? We all know the colour of gammon. The colour of gammon depends on what it has been cured with or indeed smoked in. I have cured ham (which I accept we can safely establish the colour of,) in dark sugars and molasses and it comes out almost black. But it's still gammon. Bit like people - same inside just different colour outside.

A derogatory term for a white person, but not racist? I believe the term comes from a comparison of an angry white person's face to a side of gammon. It's the equivalent of referring to a black person as a chocolate face, which I'm sure we all agree is offensive and racist. Both derogatory, both target skin colour, both food based... Yet one is racist, and one not? If there's one thing nobody respects it's judging others by a standard that you don't apply to yourself.

Bit like people - same inside just different colour outside. Are you saying that you can apply the slur gammon to black people as they could be considered over cooked or stained gammon? Like they're actually white on the inside? Isn't that a slur in itself? Like calling someone a choc-ice. That's the thing about the type of person who thinks it's not racist to call someone Gammon: they don't understand prejudice, because despite their bleating they're ignorant.

Take your 'no true Scotsman' dim witted fallacies to someone dim enough to believe them. The overwhelming membership criteria for this forum is that you SUPPORT Palace. It therefore follows that members will wish to watch or follow matches involving Palace, in particular at times of increased tension due to the prospect of relegation. Therefore any Palace fan posting drivel not associated with our fight for survival, on a Saturday afternoon deserves being called out. Or is my argument illogical?

You can cure gammon to be black, and black people are black, therefore Gammon is universally insulting and therefore ok... I cannot believe that as a society self respect has reached such an epic low that a white person can call another white person a derogatory name based on their colour, and MEAN it with hatred, and still avoid absolutely all self awareness on the matter. Get a grip.
