Sorry to be negative after a great result, but not for me. He wants the ball at his feet and is skillfull, but that’s not our style. For me, he was largely non existent today, but his goal was a quality strike. We need a man who will get on the end of crosses and can hold up the ball and bring the wide men into play. As annoying as it is, a Glen Murray type. Benteke has the right style of play but seems to have lost his enthusiasm/confidence, or perhaps both. I don’t know the answer, but I hope we don’t splash £25m+ on Michy. This would be true a few years back, but couldn't disagree more at the moment. We play good, quick passing football and I think our play is massively improved by having a striker who's comfortable with the ball at his feet. I'll still reserve judgement on Michy - still needs some time to bed in and hasn't had any stand-out all-round performances so far, but the finish today was lovely and he could be brilliant for us. Definitely our best striker option at the moment.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Batman' by bexleydave I wasn't able to watch any of today's game but I was at the United game on Wednesday. He's certainly a very skillful player and has great control but for me he was trying to be too clever at times - okay, if the only option is a back flick then fine, but otherwise play the simple ball first. Showboating is fine when you are 3 or 4 goals to the good but not when you are a couple of goals behind. But, if he keeps on scoring I won't mind too much.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Batman' by bexleydave He scores goals, even when he's not playing well I think I'd settle for that. Benteke is like a midlands eagle. Out of place, slow and unproductive. His only chance of action is from penalties

£25M and £90K/week should reel him in.

Batshuayi doing good though, that's a plus. When I was saying he's a good striker and we should have profited of Antonio Conte wanting to change Benteke for him 1 year ago, many here cursed me for not knowing what I was talking about.

Firstly, there was only ever a media rumour that Benteke was one of several ‘target men’ Chelski were looking at. Secondly, they have made it clear the last 3 transfer windows that Batshuayi is not for sale. Where you get this “Conte wanting to swap” thing from is beyond me. If that were true, I cannot see why SP wouldn’t have jumped at the chance.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

He's not a great footballer, but have an eye for scoring which is what we have been missing!

Play beneteke to feed him, great header by him to bats right at the end yesterday.. I want them to try more of that in matches, they could have an understanding (& language) to get the best out of each other!! Originally posted by thai-eagle

If Roy goes Groundhog Day again against Hudds and we don’t get a result, it could turn against him. There’s a lot of frustrated people out there
