This town aint big enough for a player like Meyer and Sheriff Hodgson. Unless RH retires at the end of the season Meyer will be off. He was a highly touted prospect. He didnt get a move to a bigger club for various reasons, but he is undoubtedly a high quality class player. There is no way on earth he or his agent is going to be ok with this type of usage next season, at a critical phase in his career. In many ways he is too good for Palace, watching him play I think he could do a job at a much better side who play a lot of quick passing moves and have skill all over the park. Regardless of why he is not starting, this cannot last. Perhaps we can actually command a fee for one of our players for once and make some money at least on the transfer fee/free signing angle, having gotten skinned on the wages. If RH retires though, he could become a main stay in our side under a different manager.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Maybe this season was shop window season, we sell in summer, get a nice 15/20 mil for him - if it was to purely sell him on, ruthless, but smart. However, it's a damn shame we cannot make it work.
This was once a quality forum.... |

I can only guess Roy thinks he detracts too much from the defensive/combative side of our game and, while he improves us going forward, he really only offers an assist threat. And with our forwards' finishing, perhaps more assists ain't what we need? That or we view him as a profit opportunity. But I want him to be a starter. I'd prefer him over several of our midfield/forward options.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Especially in home games Meyer should be starting. He is the key to us unlocking tight defences.

I think it’s a real shame. He is very, very clever and his decision making is lightening and accurate. At first he just seemed to pass for passings sake. He has improved no end and it is so frustrating. Really frustrating and imo Roy is making an error, consistently.

If the plan is to sell Meyer at a big profit then we need to give him game time so he attracts potential buyers. The whole situation hasn't been handled well and I bet he would easily get into most Premier League sides outside the top 6

Use him or lose him. Sadly it looks like the latter - which is a crying shame when we have, at long last, found a creative midfielder who oozes class. It is a sorry reflection on the manager (and his predecessors) opting for mundane 'get rid of it quick'

Shocking waste of talent. You wait years for a midfielder like Meyer and then he doesn't get the game time. It's a f*cken joke ...

The strange thing is that Palace do actually play possession based football. Meyer should fit the system and does. He looks quality every time he plays, and as others say, he is the only creative midfielder that can unlock defences. At the moment Schlupp, to be fair to him, is playing very well, as is Luka. Jimmy Mac is a tough one to drop as he's such a good all rounder.
