He’s the main conduit for information to be passed to supporters who are the lifeblood of any club.
Whether one likes it or not, the two transfer windows create a lot of excitement and interest for supporters.
Perhaps I expect too much , but without being specific I am sure it would be possible to indicate if a new signing is imminent and also the type and profile of player we’re seeking.
Talking in vague terms about ‘hope’ leads to speculation about lack of finances and unprofessionalism of the board; perhaps this is his intention.

Nah he's just being professionally discreet. No point feeding expectations, or pressuring the club to spend in a position. Be a cagey, disinterested and vague buyer.

I just wish Hodgson would be a bit more open about transfer activity.
I don’t expect him to name actual names of targets.
However, he is so uncooperative at press conferences as if he’s doing a favour to impart information to the fans.
He was almost unwilling to agree that Solanke was a target until it was pointed out that Parish had already revealed the fact.
I hope he’s on ‘on board’ with any signings we do make otherwise I don’t expect them to be involved in first team squads any time soon.

Solanke would only be an issue to discuss if he was available and as we found out he wasn't Mr Hodgson rightly kept quiet, also there is the problem of unsettling players and if he had heard talk of us wanting him he may have had a nervous breakdown.

You’re probably right.
I’d like to find out though why the Solanke deal collapsed - he’s just signed for Bournemouth for £19 million.
I wonder if these were the ‘other factors’ that led to the collapse of the Solanke move.

I think that is actually our policy.

I prefer it when he tells hacks with stupid questions to f*** off. This is more like The Magic Flute. Sei standhaft, duldsam und geschwiegen (stop faffing about, don't complain about waiting ages and keep your gob shut).

It’s not just the transfers I’d like to know about.
It’s how it works between Parish and the two Americans.
I believe the ownership split is roughly a third each with Parish charged with day to day running of the club and the Americans have a right of veto on certain expenditure.
All a bit vague though.
I suppose it will have to run with the great questions of our time like who shot Kennedy and how did Marilyn Monroe die!

Yup Bournmouth have signed Solanke and loaned Clyne ... makes you wonder what Dougie and co actually do all day.

Mate, a few years ago, I was a shareholder of a business and I didn’t find out that level of detail about how the business operates even after I had bought a large chunk of it.

And your above makes me wonder if you read any posts, "Dougie and co lined up the Solanke deal, so he has a medical at Palace, seems he has an injury and could be out till Feb.
As we need a striker who can hit the ground running so to speak , he is of no use to us,so we pull out of the deal. Bournmouth on the other hand have two excellent strikers and are quite happy to wait until he is fit. Howe sees him as a good prospect, one fore future, we don't have that luxury.
As for Clyne, Bournmouth have lost their 1st and 2nd choice RB's, so he is a perfect fit for them on loan, Palace do not need a RB. so why waste a loan?
Now i think you should appolagise to "Dougie and co.
