Feel this season we have the advantage of continuity which we never had previous seasons, in both players and management. All the other clubs signings can seem a bit unnerving but we look a force and probably the best pre-season i've seen us have in a long 'ole time. Plus how can I be worried when seeing Roy receive a birthday cake in his little jumper?

What is going on right now. Wolves, Fulham, Everton & West-ham have signings coming out of their ears. Never seen anything like it, they have spent obcene money in this window and there still piling in. We signed 14 in the 2013/14 summer window. Really, only Puncheon was a success - although Mariappa and Guediora were fair players who probably did not get a great crack at Palace These clubs have signed better quality but still have to assess them and get them attuned to the system being played. Hopefully, they all come unstuck. Bit surprised that Antonio did not end up here. Bolasie will probably have to go abroad now if he has a future. Even if Everton fund half his salary it's hard to see Championship teams taking a punt and obviously not what he would be wanting

The way it's going Fulham will need to dedicate one of their stands to hold all these new players. One upside is they may not be as prepared for Saturday in terms of a settled team. We looked very organised in pre-season and will perhaps be in a stronger position against them than we might be in a couple of months when they've bedded in their new team.

The grass can certainly seem greener when we look at deals other clubs are managing. Personally, I am very happy with our deals this window, our first 11 looks stronger to me and we have some decent depth too. I imagine there have been a few deals that will have slipped through our fingers, and I would have appreciated another striker coming in but I can't be unhappy with the deals that have been done.

My guess is that they will go with team that played their last pre-season game. A lot of those players will be looking over their shoulders at the new arrivals and wanting to impress so we cannot expect an easy ride

Still no news on Ayew which, unless we've managed to keep something very secretive, is our only signing of the day. As always though, why does it take us so long? Edited by AshfordEagle94 (09 Aug 2018 5.35pm) I agree we seem to suffer the same outcome in every window, the decision making, we need much better negotiators and we have to ask the question why are some good players are reluctant to come to CP, Chambers is one example why did he turn us down last season and yet he has now ended up at Fulham on loan and Wilshire is another who choose Bournemouth over us and has now ended up at West Ham?

Ok, I知 going to say it..... I知 pretty disappointed. Really hoped for a couple more signings today, specifically a defender and striker. I want to be pleased but really I知 not. Weak teams this season for me will be... huddlesfield, Cardiff, Brighton and controversially Burnley.

Some of the numbers bouncing around on Sky are just insane.

No news on Ayew yet? what do you think of our summer window then? who else looks to have made good business? I'd say Liverpool, Everton, Wolves and Fulham have good potential to do well this year Why, because they bought stacks of players? The newly promoted teams HAVE to spend big and early as they need to adapt to a completely different world where what took them up may not be what will keep them up. Everton supposedly spent well last Summer and flaked badly. They are rather sad club. They see thre transformation of Spurs and think I'll have some of that. They thus invest vast sums in order to break into the ECL... but just seem to take one step forward and then one step back. Liverpool are now a top 3 fixture. These purchases will probably push them into second.
