Haven't read the whole thread so not sure if this has been mentioned, but Benteke has been directly involved in 7 of our last 10 goals (6 assists and 1 goal) based on that Benteke... Sorloth looks a little out of his depth IMO, But taking into account hes been chucked in at the deep end against some top teams and he's not 100% fit, i'm looking forward to seeing what he will be like next season.

Yeah, I made this point previously. I am hoping sorloth comes good but I don't have the highest of hopes.

We should consider our strike force of Sorloth and Benteke an attacking unit (albeit a small one) and they need to be used as a unit to give options and competition for places up top. No doubting Benteke's past achievements but he needs some of the pressure taken off of him and that won't happen all the time he continues to start matches. Sorloth needs to start to not only give Benteke a kick up the 'arris but also to remove some of the pressure of scoring goals that he is so desperately succumbing to. Teams know how to deal with the 'threat' of Benteke, starting Sorloth will give them something else to think about, and then introducing Benteke later in matches does the same again.

Sorloth offers more effort but lack of experience in the Prem may count against him. Benteke just doesn't look like he's giving it his all, Saturday he just seemed to lollop around like a giraffe and on several occasions he ran way from the ball/action. Maybe a game on the sidelines will help him to get his desire back. So for me at the moment it would be Sorloth.

Whatever Roy decides is good by me. He sees them in training and is best placed to make the correct call.

Directly involved in 7 of our last 10 goals. If we weren't deep in a relegation battle I'd chance Sorloth but in spite his poor form I'd stick with Benteke for experience. Hauling him off at half time though suggests Roy thinks different and I trust his judgement.

Hopefully Saturday will be a wake up call for tekkers. He can’t sleep walk through games anymore as we have another option.

Starting against Huddersfield makes most sense because he'd actually be in for harsher treatment at Selhurst. Our first priority away will be to keep it tight so if we keep 0-0 but Benteke doesn't try in the first half then we can haul him off again. If it was Huddersfield at home I'd actually start Sorloth because the second Benteke makes a tiny mistake he's getting booed and that'll be no good for anybody.

The only time he's been booed at SP is when he gave up chasing the ball and stopping it going out of play against utd. Despite an awful season I can't remember any other booing (oh there was that penalty too)...

you can't say Sorloth is head and shoulders above Benteke. that's daft.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Two goals all season and a record in missing chances. Says it all for me, really....Can't afford playing both Benteke & the Norwegian same time, so go for the rookie!
