Hopefully the club can't be fined or sanctioned for the actions of the retards

Someone who knows the law a bit better than I do would need to comment, but I don't see how a football club can be held responsible for the actions of idiots on the streets, simply because those idiots are claiming to be supporters of that club. If that sticks, then let's all don ManU shirts (only using them as an example) and go out and cause evil mayhem.

If I punch someone in the face in the street while carrying a Sainsbury's shopping bag, would the victim have a case for compensation against Sainsbury's?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Reports of knives, knuckle dusters being confiscated and masked supporters in incidents in the town centre.

Reports from where? I have not seen that anywhere. Obviously I am not doubting you before you get defensive.

I got there early so missed the trouble outside

But I was also forced away from my seat by a gang of 'youths' - can't say for sure they were HF but seemed to have the standard uniform. When I complained I was told to F off

If that's how they behave towards our own supporters ...

I don't bother going to many away games because of the idiots we've attracted since being back in the Premier League.
A bunch of loud mouth cowards who are a curse on our club.If as a genuine Palace fan you stand up to them you are branded a "plastic",absolutely pathetic individuals.

Every single person was dressed in dark clothing . As I say I was the only one I saw on the trains, in one of 3 pubs we went to, in the kettle etc wearing colours.

Nonsense, the behavior of the police and how BHA approach the situation can add to the situation. Under those circumstances things might boil over slightly. Which it sounds like it did which then was exacerbated by the stewards/police and the decisions they took.

If someone punches you in the back, do you keep walking along whistling.

If you are thrown into an area, on your own, with opposition fans, do you just smile contently.

If you are pushed or manhandled do you say pleasantly, have a good day.

If you go to an away match without a ticket; are you looking for trouble?

Sorry you had to go through that.

I have never been to Brighton away and never will. You really had to think whether a football match is worth that.

Not sure l’ll bother next season after last night. May have been different if we had tonked them but that match certainly wasn’t worth the grief.

I can't help but feel those reports were self serving by the Police and BHA. I would like to see the evidence and the numbers. Probably one of those tiny Swiss Army knives and a sovereign ring.

Absolutely, I mean no palace fan would go to a Brighton away game armed, would they.

I didn't hear any mention of BHA claiming that knives and knuckle dusters were confiscated. No numbers mentioned but I don't doubt the word of the Sussex Police.
