A two game ban is not enough to stamp out this cheating way that now, more then ever, seems to be the way teams are being told by their Managers/coaches to play,if they can see that the only way to play, win, or draw, is to cheat... Of course people will say that my view is because I am a sore loser... Just a pity, that this happens to relate to our game on Saturday, but, I very strongly feel that the league should have the power to not only disallow any goal that results from that incident, as well as a 3 game ban for the player, AND, a financial punishment for manager/coaches of that club.. Harsh, you think? not at all, THAT, will make managers/coaches except responsibility for what they teach/train there players to do.. We keep going on at the officials..rightly so in many cases.. but, that incident on Saturday is one of soooooooooo many, not only for us, but other teams as well.. I am not trying to get them off the hook at all, but when you have a player like this who has the damn balls to laugh later in the game when he did something else that he got away with, we have to realize that they, the officials are human.. and they need our help in stamping this out once and for all..
Here since 81...(LAST CENTURY !!).. x-Dunraven School, early 1960.... Palace 'nut' since 58.... |

Or, if you're Willo, the horses*** he has pasted here for the ten gazillionth time. I don't understand all that technical terminology etc etc. All I will say is that supporters always call for 'Consistency' in relation to refereeing decisions - I have been consistent in my posts on HOL and have to re-iterate my message when I believe it is appropriate to do so.

Agree - didn't Allardyce say something like this when the system was proposed?

The whole point of this procedure is to try to enlighten players into realising that cheaters will be found out.

He was quite clear after the game that it was a dive. Since the quoted remarks don't come with a link or any attribution, and given who posted them, I'd take them with a hefty dose of sodium chloride if I were you.

Actually he did say this. If was in one of his post match interviews. ...he was quite clear that it was a dive, but only after seeing it on the video.

It baffles me as to why Everton are contesting a unnaminous decision by three ex professionals if I were a top cog in the fa machine I’d say fine he doesn’t get banned for two games but you surrender the point you stole therefore awarding the match to Crystal Palace I think they may stick with the ban

The whole match WILL be taken into account. There is a robust system for measuring the performance of the referee after each PL game. Each PL game is forensically evaluated where intense scrutinization of every decision is made using the match footage and 'ProZone' to measure the referee's technical performance. There is an assessment of the accuracy and consistency of decision making and his management of the game. Ok then Willo, if you are correct, has any of the results of these forensic assessments EVER been made public? Or is simply a case of telling us what we want to hear and filing the results of the assessments in the bin.. Keep it secret seems to be the answer, else it will show up the incompetence of some referees. And yes, I do remember Stuart Atwell......1 referee demoted out of hundreds of idiots..what happened to all the rest?

He comes out with this bollocks every time and it's just as much horse*** now as it was when they chucked him out of the BBS years and years ago.
