All this one striker is nonsense, we have more than one striker, injured or not very good I grant you, but more than one.

So we go into th new season with a SINGLE first team fit striker but it’s ok coz we have one more who’s been injured forever. Mental
logic. It’s been a monumental cock up.

Don't try and rewrite history. Pulis wasn't interested in staying with us, he didn't even want to manage us in the first place, he tried to rip us off and that has been proven. Allardyce left because he retired from club management.

Totally Agree & tbf,Allardyce seems to be living out his promise - of course he'll be back at some point, somewhere, but he's ruled himself out of enough stuff for me to respect that the reasons quoted were legit.

Pulis was / is a total Cnut!!!

That said, when one adds the decision to "reward" Pards with a 4 year deal after an atrocious run of results to the shocking decisions made this summer, Parish's competency account is getting v. close to overdraft levels - imho.

Why do you think it took him five years to even think about installing mandatory features for disabled people? Because that's not what was important to him. Everything he's done since arriving here was to make himself look the bee's knees. He stumbled his way into the Premier League, especially after Dougie left, and now he's there he hasn't a clue what to do, so he's blaming all of it on everyone else he can. He thinks being a Palace fan makes him King of the Hill and doesn't think he needs to listen to anyone else. Any smart chairman would give their manager the money and say to them "This is our budget and if you want to use it to buy 5 center backs, you live or die by it." He should've thought through what tactics he wanted his team to play, got a man in who fit them, and then just let him get on with it. But no, he tried to be the scout, the players' agent, the coach AND the manager all at once, all while keeping his wallet as tightly closed as possible, because he thinks he knows best about everything. And that's the way it's going to carry on because he's got an ego bigger than his nose. This isn't Crystal Palace F.C. anymore, it's Steve Parish F.C.

Isn't this basically what he does?

I'm loving the lack of grey between the :

"Parish is a man-God who saved our club & must be unquestioned"

&, the

"Everything is Parish's fault, he can do nothing right & micromanages - he needs to go now"

Standpoints.

Reality - He's a good guy, has done v. well for the club, but hasn't made the wisest decisions in the last 2 years. & that's not hindsight talking - I thought both Pardew & FdB decisions were absolutely shocking in real time. (although I thought the decision to sell Campbell OK at the time).

Do you mean signing them or sacking them?

Who is rewriting words now YOU

You do not know if he wanted to stay or not at the end of the day history shows he walked for reasons unknown to us and he didn't try to rip us off yes there was money matter but come on he deserved every penny for what he did.

At first he didn't that is correct but what do you expect Palace are not high profile club we was small club with lots of unknowns plus the back setup is poor so what do you expect, he changed his mind after speaking with people like Sir Alex Ferguson.

Again you do not really know why Sam left funny how he is now open to taking some work even if it's international this just shows something is really wrong with our club (i would expect if a top club job came up he would of taken it but he is a respectful man and maybe in contract he can not take another club job for set time)

Rumours abound regarding Sam's possible return to management with perhaps the Everton or Scotland vacancy.

They aren't facts but your opinions which means that it's you desperately trying to rewrite history

let's be fair he's normally found us a good manager every time he's had to.

But that doesn't fit with the current anti Parish sentiment so maybe I should shut up.

It does beg the question why has he had to find so many managers in such a relatively short space of time though.

It's not a case of current anti Parish sentiment but seeing the facts clearly and not through Palace tinted specs

Well you know all the reasons why.
But because we are bottom, many Holers are blaming Parish for literally everything.

I'm fed up reading how only bexleydave and yourself called this one right at the time. I do remember bd casting doubts but you actually posted on 9th June in the huge "new manager" thread that "I have no opinion of De Boer tbh"

I agree with you, I don't hate Parish at all and appreciate what he has done for the club but no one is above criticism and frankly, the last two years? Theres loads to criticise.
I think some on here go over the top in slagging SP off to redress the balance. IE, they get fed up with the unconditional love and unwarranted hero worship.
For me, his worst decision was not to buy a striker in the summer. He had an entire three months to do so. And then he goes and makes it worse with the patronising `sun comes up in the morning` tweet. That understandably angered a lot of people.
