To me it it is not so much Roy but the coaching team that is constructed around him so that we get the right strength and balance. Sammy Lee is important as I think that he was marginalised under De Boer and seems to have a good relationship with the players.

I think personally FdB's sacking is short-sighted and costly. Despite the absolute gift goal we gave away the performance was very good. Although he will get a large pay off I feel genuinely sorry for the guy. It does make me wonder if there were clashes behind the scenes.

On Roy - not one for a long term appointment. Can't get the limp performance against Iceland out of my mind but that said he is a very experienced club manager and helped turn WBA into a solid Prem outfit. As someone else has said though there is a fair chance we could lose the next four given the opposition, will they sack again if that happens?! Nuts....

The more I think about it the worse it gets - it will be a rubbish appointment and is a backward step in my opinion.
I really am a very disillusioned Palace fan today - just about had enough of football.

A bit like Have I got News for you perhaps have a different manager a week. That way Parish may get the opportunity he craves and sit in the dug out.

Talksport say Roy might be appointed sometime today.

I feel ashamed being a Palace fan today.

No manager should be sacked arfter four games.

We are a bloody laughing stock.

So if we get beat by Saints, Man utd,man City and Chelsea does the next manager get sacked also ?

My concern with RH in charge ... we have 30 + "Iceland" games left of the season ..... you can fill in the spaces blank blank blank , no plan b or c .... the board have a lot to answer

That last point seals it for me, Roy it is.

I would much rather have a Croydon born man than some big time Dutchman who thinks because he was a great player he can get nasty and alienate the players.

If so probably one of the strong reasons for the announcement today. Talk of evolution not revolution suggested that this shouldn't be the case.
