We are not privy to what happened here. The goalposts might well of been changed by his team. If so in the long run he is just going to rot in the reserves until Jan at Everton where they have supposedly even removed his personal locker. Poor guy has to put his shirt on a communal peg, lol. Why wait until the last moments of the transfer window to sign Oumar Niasse? Oumar Niasse has been sitting there for months, just waiting for a club to come in for him. So we play Parish's games, and we wait until the last minute, and it falls through. Ok, lets say its not his fault that it fell through, well it certainly is Steve Parish's fault that after it fell through at about 1am, we had 0 minutes left to sign another striker. Where is your plan B, when we have ONE fit premier league striker. This is not the position to play Russian Roulette with. Sure, mess around on signing another left back, and leave it late and watch it burn in flames, but not a striker. Its shambolic mismanagement of the club. Edited by Maine Eagle (01 Sep 2017 1.47pm)

Not sure whether this has been answered elsewhere, but 1). What is stopping us signing Loic Remy on a free? Genuine questions so thanks in advance for responses

But clubs tend to want strikers who offer some use which means they're still in contract. Going to have ride some serious luck here. And Benteke hasn't been injured for a long time as it is.

I am not going to defend Parish. But can we get this out of our system and then go back to hoping / praying / supporting. I still think the team is stronger now, lacking in depth, but there was talk last season about giving youth a chance and now we will have to do that. Sakho is a brilliant signing. We have kept hold of Wilf, Townsend and Cabaye, got some exciting guys in. We should be plenty strong enough to stay up. Could be better, but could be a whole lot worse. I am not convinced that Niasse would have been the difference. I am trying hard. That is as optimistic as I can be. Edited by dp (01 Sep 2017 2.25pm)

Parish has been vocal about not knowing how other clubs can abide to FFFP and sign all these new players. Is there a loophole we're missing through inexperience, or are other teams flouting the rules and prepared to take a hit if found out. I feel like there's some operational nous we're missing with regards to club management/bringing in finance.

I reckon the Manager, Striker and keeper situation shows we are in a spot of bother. I am delighted Sakho has signed and also says a lot that he believes we are a good club to join. I do NOT wish to knock SP but for heaven's sake why oh why do we not have a decent second striker and back up keeper? Not having any experience running a PL club leaves me wide open to criticism, but I think we can all see the problem here and surely we had enough time to sort it out!! For me I am very concerned about the coming months but I do hope I am so very wrong.
