People commit crime for all sorts of reasons. 99% of them inexcusable.

People need to take responsibility for their own actions. I've never stolen a thing... not even a sweet from the cornershop. I've never signed on, I worked my way thru college/university by cleaning offices at night. I pay every single £ I owe to the tax man, and do so without moaning, this is the best country in the world... I'm so pleased my parents decided to move here... I have zero affiliation with my parents countries... this country made me... this country took care of my dad when he was ill, this country educated me, this country allows me to make a good living, I thoroughly enjoy life... and that's down to the opportunities this country has given me. My friend is Jamaican... he is always banging on about how great Jamaica is... and how s*** the U.K. is... (he lives in Birmingham to be fair). He has such disregard for this country. The NHS treated his mums breast cancer. She brought up the family in a council house, he's whole childhood was funded by this country... Jamaica isn't a great country imo... been there, and found it totally bigoted.. the homophobia was rampant.

The little s***s that commit crime and throw acid in people's faces... don't understand how f***in lucky they are. If you live in the U.K..... you've won the country lottery.

My mum is Irish... some of her family support Ireland in the rugby when they play England... they were born in England, raised in England... yet scream their heads off for Ireland to "smash" the English... I always ask them... What has Ireland done for you?

You raise good points here. Young black boys do underachieve in school, however, many are driven to succeed and to go further than other black boys who have previously failed. However, the black community through the mistakes of older generations now know the importance of education and there are many mentoring and bursary schemes to help young black kids to push and stay in education. So I would not say that education is seen as a bad thing in our community as many kids are pushed to go into further education.

Regarding your point on your views alienating you from your family, obviously I can't say because I have not met the members of your family but it seems as if these are opinions on culture rather than intelligence.

I would say that in today's society black people commit crimes because of poverty. They see it as an easy way to escape poverty but then people get a taste for power, a taste for money and then carry on. Some believe there is no one to help them. People have different intentions with their crimes, for example, someone could mug someone because they want money for some new trainers, however someone else could mug someone because they need money to feed their family that has not eaten for the past two days. I have noticed that these days you do get a lot of Asians committing crimes as well as black people. However I would say the reason that Jews and Asians don't feel they have to commit crimes is because they are there for each other. Typically (from my experience anyway) if a Jew or an Asian has financial success, they share their success with their whole family and involve them in their businesses, whereas unfortunately, successful black people are not as keen to share. I really hope this will change.

Regarding racism from black people, it is clear that black people have developed prejudices towards white people, for many it is due to receiving racism from white people, for others it is due to ignorance. However, in my experience, I have observed at witnessed more racism from white people, with actual derogatory remarks and mocking. I don't condone racism is any way shape or form but I would say that racism from white people is a lot worse. You say you have never been targeted by police or in a club or pub because of your colour of skin, well I wish I could say the same.

How do you know you were targeted by colour... my nephew was stopped, they were looking for someone who matched his description... a lot of street crime in London is committed by young black males, the nature of the crime means there is often a good description of the perpetrator, that's why police sometimes stop young black males... they're just following up leads... this was explained by a black senior police officer on LBC. Someone phoned in, and genuinely said black crime should be investigated differently... that unless the crime was violent, a watered down approach was better.

I started a thread on here about me moving my car a short distance and getting a ticket for not wearing sit belt... I thought to myself... I wonder if it's because I'm non white, in a 99% white Sussex town. Turns out... the copper is a jobsworth... he gets everyone.

Pretty much, although I think for some in parts of the country finding work that will pay sufficient for a family to exist is pretty slim pickings - and some crimes I think are committed because the laws are pretty out of line with pragmatism (vice laws being the best example).

Like yourself, I've always worked - except at University - it wasn't viable to work in Sheffield at the time, the wages were poor and unemployment was rife - but I worked over the summers to clear out my overdraft.

I do know people who turned to drug dealing as a means of topping up their wages and in the south that seems to have become increasingly common place. Wages vs costs in the South are pretty poor, and that is a major problem (not a reason to commit crime - but its an incentive - why work two full time jobs when you could work one job and flog weed for a few hours a week).
