I'll be surprised if we get anything for squad dross. Sako is on £60k. Mutch, not much, probably nothing. Lee? Maybe a mil.

We can get players off the wage bill, something that's happening for us more now we're in our 5th season.

Yes you're probably right. Getting them off the wage bill would be helpful.

I don't see that Sako or Lee offer much more than Kaikai for instance. He'll be 22 by September and Luke Croll is already 22.

Luke Croll was released and has now signed for Exeter

I not savy on the figures but one thing I know is that Sakho the best centre back, I've seen in a Palace shirt. This FFP doesn't affect many other sides and personally don't think frank de Boer would of accepted the job if the budget was only 30m. While it was clever to get 2 left backs because PVA injury last season, to spend 28m on left backs was not great business sense in hindsight.

It was possibly great buisness sense as without both we may have well have been relegated.

Every Jan transfer was perfect. Expect for the omission of a buy clause for £20m in Sakhos deal.

We're effectively hanging the scousers out to dry on this one...they clearly want to get another CB in and cant do so unless they offload Mama...us then using rumoured interest in other options to test their resolve.

Having said that, i'm not sure now having seen some of the other players we've allegedly been looking at, whether Sakho would be a wise purchase on his own...I think we'd def need another defender.

I think you may be over-estimating our ability to put pressure on Liverpool. We aren't the only club interested (if we still even are) and someone will get close to the asking price. The major limiting factor currently would seem to be Sakho himself, who seems to have set his sights a bit higher than just PL football.

In the last year that accounts are available for (2015/16) we made a post tax loss. In the last Summer and January transfer windows we made a net spend of over £70m. We have a £55m wage bill. Unless the owners suddenly turn into a bunch of Tony Bloom's and start chucking in mountains of extra cash, I'd say our options are limited. Unless we sell a prized asset, Bolasie-style, who would then have to be replaced as well.

Erm the mirror says our summer net spend was under £10m add our Jan spend and that comes to about £40m.

I'm not saying the mirror is right but I don't think our net spend was anywhere like £70m

Also if the club has wage/running costs of £60m then it's fair to say we should have a war chest of £40m each year? As we earn £100m a year right?

Fair enough, Parish had better stop being such a tight git this window then.

Good question.

No sign of any ground improvements, and if we do not spend the money to stay up , by the time we do see any it will be too late , and no point in increasing capacity.
