This FFP doesn't affect many other sides and personally don't think frank de Boer would of accepted the job if the budget was only 30m. While it was clever to get 2 left backs because PVA injury last season, to spend 28m on left backs was not great business sense in hindsight. It was possibly great buisness sense as without both we may have well have been relegated. Every Jan transfer was perfect. Expect for the omission of a buy clause for £20m in Sakhos deal.

I think you may be over-estimating our ability to put pressure on Liverpool. We aren't the only club interested (if we still even are) and someone will get close to the asking price. The major limiting factor currently would seem to be Sakho himself, who seems to have set his sights a bit higher than just PL football.
