What he means is that the country is filling up with Labour voters, AKA immigrants and their offspring, just as Tony Blair hoped, while white middle class birth rates are falling away. You know. The sort of people who are too busy working to demonstrate. Have you heard of annual leave? Or Flexi-time?

Fair enough, I'll let you get back to your Hindley / Brady shrine. Yeah because that's a good comparison. Showing your true colours as usual Nick when it doesn't go your way. Regarding your article, I'd like to see how the 2% is worked out, considering how long TM has been leader/PM for.

Well targeted expansionary fiscal policies and reducing inequality has huge weight of evidence of success behind it and the fact that our public services and infrastructure are crumbling shows that they need proper funding and proper management. The fact that our productivity is so low shows the need for a national industrial strategy, not just leaving things up to the free market, which is inefficient.

Are we sure Hrolf didn't use that phrase as part of the election? Labour will do better than the Tories, they didn't. But I fully expect them to do better when that Idiot has left.

Whilst this belief about demographics could probably be true, there are no official statistics published for how people voted, just exit & opinion polls. In the same way that we'll never know if the youth vote helped Labour this time around, we'll never know the % of older Tory voters. Obviously, if come the election in 2050, there's 100% vote for Labour we can look back and say Heseltine (and Gusset) were likely right, but until then these are perceptions only . . . I'm still waiting for a credible 3rd party to come out of our democratic system and put forward some candidates you can believe in. I can't abide the Tories, but also can't bring myself to vote for Labour - especially as the Labour candidate lived nowhere near the borough. The Lib Dems aren't really credible any more and UKIP were a one issue party, scuppered by their own success in pushing (alongside others) for Brexit. If there was an MP - or challenger - for Epsom & Ewell who actually seemed to put the local community before party politics, they'd be much more likely to get my vote. Now - that maybe seems too idealistic (although France has just elected a load of new politicians) so maybe let's see how that works for them over the next year or two.

Well I guess they've got good weather, booked transport and planned their day out. Rally's can be a good fun day. Get out, meet like minded people, have a few drinks etc I don't think many people if anyone have a problem with protest marches. I would always defend the right to protest but the lack of acknowledgement that the SWP and the the like are agitating for trouble, is frankly ridiculous

On a side note, share prices in energy companies shot up after the Queen's speech. Tells you all you need to know about who the government's energy policies will benefit.

The various studies done post election are indeed polls, but they have large enough sample sizes to be robust, and the various polls all agree with one another. I think we can say with a degree of certainty that these demographics are materially correct.
