He's a pro footballer earning millions living in a town that is 3.5 hours from Wales. Jesus Christ give me strength... On his ability, Hennessey is what I call a 'Hollywood' goalkeeper. Looks the part, but in essence is crap. He can pull off impressive saves, kicking is good, he has the height and physical build, however his decision making is poor, lacks bravery, doesn't command his box, doesn't communicate with his back 4 and generally lacks confidence and is prone to unforced errors. He's been poor for the best part of 2 years. The whole team knows and when Wayne makes an unforced error to go 1-0 down, the outfield players lose heart and belief (i.e. Sunderland 4-0). The mistake at Villa last season was the catalyst for a terrible run. We all know that at any level of football, if you keeper is s***, you are screwed. My view is that if Speroni isn't good enough to replace easily the worst keeper in the league, then he's not good enough to make the bench and AP and SA should have stuck a kid on the bench instead. All our gk are not good enough but Sam seems to rate Hennessy. So we might aswell back him.

Whatever we all think about WH ... he's still managed 2 clean sheets in the last 3 games! I never thought I'd be saying that this season ... so let's be thankful for small mercies eh!

I think WH proved on Saturday he is capable of keeping the all important clean sheets wee need if we have a settled defence. Not only did Sakho ease the worries of Tomkins but I feel he instilled confidence in WH as well. He had a bullet volleyed at him from 6 yards and he saved with strong hands. I've said on here before he worries me with his dive. He's like a frozen pig at a butchers, and he still makes my blood run cold when the oppo has a free kick from shooting distance. All in all I think and hope he settles down. who would you rather have Hennessay or McCarthy?

Certainly takes longer than 3.5 hours to drive to Wales more like 5-6 hours. Wayne has been homesick all his adult life then because he started at Man City & then moved to Wolverhampton so he has not lived in Wales since he was a youngster.
