So f***ing frustrating because the club has obviously spotted that a change needed to be made by signing Mandanda. He goes and gets injured and we're back to square one, arguing about the same thing as last season.

I can't believe that we've still got WH playing !!! That's why we're still talking about it ffs !!!! He's still making the same mistakes !!! Please God let BFS make the right decision and drop him. I blame Pullis for buying him in the first place ! But even he picked Speroni ahead of him !!

I know he is not anywhere near as good as Tom Heaton of Burnley or Jordan Pickford of Sunderland.

Both of those have made stunning saves and look superb keepers for their respective clubs.

Mandanda may be the best option of the 3 keepers we have, but he is injured and not proven to the degree of the two keepers mentioned above.

Palace have generally been really good with their choice of goalies since seeing John Jackson, my first. Budgie Burridge, Nigel, Matt Clarke (he was good though short-lived), Jules, Kiraly, Vaessen and even Perry Suckling was good until that 9-0. Kolinko was better than what we have now too.

We've had four seasons to find a proper goalie in the mould of the above but failed miserably.

Wayne Hennessey; Joint 4th worst keeper this season bases off save percentage, joint 9th worst from last 8 seasons.

I thought that so far, he's been slightly better this year than last but still nowhere near the levels set by Speroni in 13/14 or Kiraly in 04/05.

Ive got a feeling that Mandanda has attended the Payet School of feigned injuries

Hear something similar myself. Cannot blame him though would you want to stand behind that defence?.

I would play Speroni over Hennessy every time. At least Jules has a backbone and a pair of bollocks. Am sure i have seen Hennessy dive out of the way of his own shadow, fecking missed that as well.

Was good to have a leader out there last night. Jules was shouting and organising the defence all game pulling them into shape with his hands.

Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the season for 4 seasons... He's definitely our best goalkeeper, but apparently not up for it.

But how much of that is due to having a shocking defence in front of him

Indeed, and to make those stats meaningful you'd need to know how many shots each keeper had had to deal with. I suspect our keepers would be near the top of that table.

How much of the terrible defence is to do with the keeper behind them? What came first, the chicken or the egg.
