I don't think that anyone currently playing for teams from 12th place downwards in the premiership would be rated well for their defensive prowess. He has scored 3 goals and has 1 assist this season!

Is the point here that there are better options in the Premiership? Or that there are better options at Palace? It seems to me that he is the best of what is available at the moment. Certainly he is trading up going from Sunderland who are bottom of the table to Palace who are two places above.
