I have said it before and I will say it again willo (trolly) is a troll it beggars belief that he could just lick clattenc*** arse all the time, when the majority of palace fans, and a load of my mates who support other clubs agree he is at best incompetent and worse (which I am beginning to feel myself) corrupt and bent.

Mis-timed, clumsy challenges have resulted in many broken legs and career threatening injuries over the years. Whilst I don't believe that was close to happening in this case, the challenge still hit Benteke at knee level which shows Gomez had no control over it. That warrents a yellow card, let alone him being the last man. For Clattenburg, he made less mistakes than usual but how he is judged to be the best ref in the world is a mystery to me, almost everyone I speak to from various fan bases don't rate him. I expect nothing less from the wonders of FIFA though.

Well many senior referees I have spoken to as well as many, many from the refereeing fraternity speak of him in glowing terms and maybe they know a lot more about the job than numerous "Fan bases". Rest assured, I am NOT taking an alternative stance to the majority on here as an act of provocation, I am merely giving you my honest opinion. Edited by Willo (28 Dec 2016 7.12pm)

Not the worst ref I've seen is me,me,me Clattenburg- Andy D'Urso take a bow - but not a very good one either.
2008: August 6 - Suspended pending a probe into his business affairs following allegations he owed £60,000 as a result of a failed venture. Pulled out of the FA Community Shield clash between Manchester United and Portsmouth as a result and later sacked by the Professional Game Match Officials board. 2009: February - Reinstated as a Select Group Referee on appeal, but suspended for eight months from August 6, 2008, for "issues relating to his private business affairs". December - It is alleged, in a match between Bolton and Manchester City, that he asked the City bench: "How do you work with Craig Bellamy all week?" Sends Bellamy off for two yellow cards in the game. 2010: October - Correctly, if controversially, allows a goal to stand between Manchester United and Tottenham when Nani tapped the ball in after Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes put the ball down, believing his side had a free-kick. Clattenburg had not blown his whistle.

Benteke did Gomez a big favour by not making a meal of the hack , there are plenty of players who would have been beating the ground and feigning injury, which Clattenburg would have fallen for,and given him a card of some description.

A will-o'-the-wisp is an atmospheric ghost light seen by travellers at night, especially over bogs, swamps or marshes. It resembles a flickering lamp and is said to recede if approached, drawing travellers from the safe paths.

As far as I at least am concerned it's been proven beyond any credible doubt many times over.
