I'm gonna stay indifferent till I see results. At the end of the day, the decision has been made whether we agree or disagree. As much as I wanted Pardew to success, it wasn't happening. Our playing style changed too much too quickly and I don't think the players were adapting well enough. Our results since this time last year just aren't good enough. We need to consolidate our position in the Premier League. As much as I did enjoy the Championship where any one can beat anyone, the Premier League is where everyone wants to be. Being able to follow Palace whether I'm at the ground or not (I am a season ticket holder before any asks) is brilliant. I was in Iran during Easter and managed to watch the match (albeit on a bad internet feed) and my family knew who we were. I like that we now have some household names in Cabaye & Benteke. Since coming up we have, for the majority, maintained the soul of the club. We are known for being a community club in South London with a loud local fan base. We are attracting more fan each season. I hated walking around South London seeing mainly Arsenal & Chelsea fans. Now I know many fans of other clubs that see us as their second team. Therefore to progress as a club, we need to stay in the Premier League as long as possible. Big Sam was not my first choice, but their is no one else out there we can attract and if can build the foundations up again happy days. We have a good enough squad to maintain a mid table status and progress from there. If we want a young progressive manager in the future, we need the club to be in a stable position. Something to build on. If Big Sam can maintain our position and build a foundation for the next couple of seasons, then to can look to the future. With a stable base, we can start to challenge for things like cups and European places. Let's face it, we are a small club in comparison to other clubs in the league even outside of the 'big' 6.
It's Red and Blue that unites us |

I think Allardyce is a bit like viagra. Even if it isn't pretty there's a good chance you'll stay up! Hopefully he'll do well and I for one would welcome a few seasons of mid table mediocrity.

Don't like the guy but he's the best manager we've had. That's it.

I'm not ecstatic with the appointment but we'll see how it works out. I'm not going to judge the bloke before we've even kicked a ball. However, if we don't get at least a point against Watford and Arsenal, the pressure is on. We still have an array of tough away games and a lot of work to be done. I think we'll stay up, and be ok, but is that progress? It will take a full season to judge how well Allardyce has done. I HOPE we still attack as well as we do, and don't resort to route one bulls***. I'm sure he'll sort out the defence but the attack will definitely suffer. My West Ham mate said under Bilic they attack far better than under Allardyce, but defensively are poor - a bit like us with Pardew. Question is, where do you preferences lie? Personally i'd prefer a team on the front foot, but the balance has to be right. Time to get behind the boys regardless. I'm not ecstatic but it's time we support our team! UTP

Ok stretching it a bit but we have an ex-international manager. Bit of a step up from the Warnocks and Holloways and Burleys. Is that a first for Palace, i wonder? Think it might be. Terry Venables, England and Australia That went well I see what you mean though

Big Sam is going to rip it up for us. All the doubters will be made to choke on there words once we start winning and pulling well away from the relegation zone.

UTP Almost sums up exactly how I feel. Although I expect at least a win at Watford. The football from now on will be dull. I liked the football we played with Pardew. We didn't get results, but it had my heart pumping. Not had that since Steve Coppell. I can't get to many games now, but I'd rather go and see us score a goal than sit back and not play. That sucks as a fan. However much you want improvement to the infrastructure and team/squad.

And I want us to beat Man U and Arsenal and the likes. That will give me enough of a thrill.

I don't, I reckon he'll do ok and all this guff about 'our style of play' - lol. What style of play is that then? Remember most said they hated Colin before he came. Bring on 2017. We have a decent squad and score goals. Hopefully he will tighten up at the back and work with Will and Townsend to get the wide balls coming in to CB - so play to our strengths. There's no one else I'd rather have in the dugout for a relegation fight - which this is, whether we care to admit it or not. (You can't perform how we have in 2016 and suggest you're not relegation fodder). Or are folk suggesting the likes of Mancini is great for a relegation scrap? But once we got to know NW, we realised that he was a good guy, amusing and passionate.

This is not about his ethics, yes he made a mistake when he was entrapped by a slime ball reporter, does not make him a bad Manager, in fact history proves otherwise AP was not exactly squeaky clean either. I'm sure SP has made the right judgement and please lets not live in the past lets look forward to a brighter future !
