I somehow think that will change their minds about where they'd like Palace to be placed in the Premiership.

However his position would be largely untenable then as it would be almost at the same position as when he took over from Warnock. Looking at the next 6 games and our present woes I can easily see the club in this position. I wouldn't be surprised if the owners aren't already actively pursuing options. Seven points before the end of the year, should be fine. Problem Pards has is that we also have Man Utd, Chelsea and the Arse in that period. Whilst that looks like a great haul looking at the matches and I would probably take it now, further forward our run in is horrific, Chelsea, Soton, Arsenal, Liverpool, ManUre, Citeh, Leicester with Burnley and Hull thrown in from 1 April. From Jan to April we will have to really find some form. Praying we can get a few more at the moment.

I can fully understand the support for AP, especially as an ex-player we would of course all like to see him being successful, but the facts are that its not happening, just look at the facts, 9 goals conceded from set play this season, worst in PL, 92/92 in terms of points gained in 2016, 10 clean sheets since 01/2015, lowest with Morecambe, 10. poor on field communication (City 2nd on Saturday), it just can't go on this a results business and if he were being paid on performance he would owe the club money!

AP has been unlucky. We're a couple short at the back and arguably further up the pitch too, constant injuries have caused major disruption. He had an average group playing some terrific stuff last season, got us to a cup final and has forged an exciting if not settled style of play. Moving forward if we can strengthen a couple of decent squad players in January (replacements for kelly, ledley and campbell) then I believe we can go on a run second half of the season, maybe a run similar that of the one at the beginning of the last. IF we were at crisis point, ie had been in the bottom 3 for a couple of weeks, OR were reliant on places because these Yanks had actually started funding a new selhurst, then I may contemplate the idea of him leaving. As it stands though I believe it to be totally the wrong time and a little distastful, we are 1 win off mid-table in the best league in the world. He has to stay IMO, the disruption will do us no good ad besides there aren't exactly many options out there.

As it stands none of the above is happening so a lot of the critical crap is just hissy fit bollocks to suit people's agenda in wanting him to go. The team makes mistakes because...wait for it...some of the players aren't great and we are a lower half Prem team. A new manager is not going to be able to change that. Wow! I normally disregard your posts. I'll take more notice now. Sorry.

As for the AP vs Pulis comparison, by season in reverse order: Goals against Pulis: 48, 51, 48, 45, 53. Avg 49. AP 51, 51, 59, 68, 51. Avg 56. A difference of 0.18 goals per game. League position Pulis: 14, 13, 11, 13, 14. Average league position 13th. 15, 10, 10, 16, 5. Avg 11th. So, Pulis' sides are better defensively, but he's been outperformed on average in the league. Pardew's gained three top half finishes with little money spent. Pulis, as we all know, had one of the highest net spends at Stoke. Edited by NickinOX (22 Nov 2016 9.54pm)

for me the problem is that he's invoked a style which doesn't suit this squad and the defensive lapses are down to coaching and the attempts to play out against teams like m. city are and will continue to be disastrous but i'd prefer to keep him and let me give him a good talking to .............

It's a shame some of our more fickle supporters cannot see that the performances have been there for the best part of this season so far, and the players are most definitely still with him and until that changes he will have my support. Our luck will change and a transfer window in January will also help. A sacking usually happens around now so a a new manager has a transfer window. Edited by Stuart Shave (20 Nov 2016 8.21pm) Not the right answer in my opinion. I am embarrassed that my club has the worst record in 2016 in the entire Football League. On what planet is that acceptable? The point of an improved style of football is that we win more games. Our amateur hour defending means that however well we play we will still lose and that will demoralise the squad before long so we won't even be playing well in midfield and attack. We have the best squad in the history of the club but are plummeting towards the bottom 3. Who's fault is that? Of course in the ideal world I would like Pardew to succeed in sorting it out but he has had eleven months to do that and has failed abysmally despite quality signings. I would have Pulis back like a shot despite his disgraceful behaviour but that's not possible so lets get Fat Sam in now and steady the ship before its too late.

I would actually say that he been incredibly lucky. He has had the luxury of signing a £30m centre forward, a £13 m winger and a £10 m centre half. Any manager in our history would have bitten your arm off for these players and to have spent £50m. And with the huge investment given to him what has he produced in the last 12 months ? A team whose league performances are fast becoming a laughing stock. It' would be criminal to give him any more time or money sorry. Put Millen in charge immediately....at least he knows how to build a defence that can defend from a dead ball Edited by BelfastEagle (22 Nov 2016 9.48pm)
