At least we'll have half a dozen Palace players in the England squad. Works for me!!! You think?

Now you're just being silly. I am talking about games we should be winning. I see us as about 8th to 11th. I didn't think we'd win at Spurs, we didn't and I don't think we will at Everton. I'm talking about games we should expect to win against games we hope to win against games we doubt we will draw, Man C away for example. I'm not a head in the sky dreamer but I don't have a little Palace mentality either.

Pards is favourite for the England Job. But would we care that much? Yes we have made a good start to the season, but we should be doing well after all. We have enough quality to be top half without question. There were enough rumours of player unrest last season and Pardew's arrogance when things are going well, that it would lead many of us to believe that the same thing could happen again. Personally, i would not shed that many tears. In our current position in the league and with the quality we have got i believe there would be plenty of good managers to choose from. You never know a new manager might decide that buying a left back in January would be a good idea!!!! Also, he might decide that Sullay KaiKai is worth a go in the first team!!! Either way, i feel total apathy about the whole thing. Does anyone else feel the same? Good post - completely agree. Just don't want Millen taking over after the dreary football we played when he was caretaker before. Edited by cpj (28 Sep 2016 9.59am)

I very much doubt he will get the England job, or even an interview, but now would be a really stupid time for him to go. He has brought real class to the team and we will be going into games against top half teams with a lot more ambition than we have had in previous seasons.

It'd be a disaster for us. We're in a good position - and although we did have a bad run, we still did well over the course of last season. There are better managers out there we could possibly attract, but we've found some stability in the top flight under a decent manager - who has over all done very well.

This post has been merged from a topic called '1 positive if Pards gets the England job' by james03 The positive would be that our players no longer get injured in training. ( unless they get called up for the England squad)

This post has been merged from a topic called '1 positive if Pards gets the England job' by james03 The positive would be that maybe we'd only get 1 new thread a day about Pardew instead of 20-30.

AP is clearly part of the board's immediate plans & has, for the first time, been given the time & money to build his own team. This seems to sit well with the owners & IF we are entering a period of sustained (relative) success then any sudden changes would be detrimental to what they are trying to achieve. SP said he'd like us to be challenging for Europe in maybe 10 years time so the short to medium goals are surely a stable EPL team & the stadium/infrastructure development. In short, I think it would be a bad thing for him to go now.
