I'm sorry but if Townsend is that bad he's got how many England caps because? And at the time Spurs preferred technical over pace that's why Erikson and sigurdson used to play on the wings when Townsend was there. But back to the point a possible 30mil !! For bolasie!!!!! We'd be mad not to I just hope this is reinvested in benteke and one or two more. Shame to see him leave as he's exciting but 15-20 goals from benteke is far more valuable in this league.

Ten caps, five of which were friendlies and in 9 of which he was a sub. This in an England squad that has won jack sh1t, and I suspect selected because he'd played at U16, 17 & 19 levels so as is always the case with the England set up, keep picking the same old, same old. As to his apparent technical deficiencies being his reason for not playing at Spurs, you've hardly given me any great confidence in him. I stand by my judgement but hope that I'm proven wrong. I agree we need another goalscorer but I'm a little miffed that it appears we can only fund it by selling Bolasie. I'll be a little appeased when I see Benteke's signature on a contract.

This could help us get Saido up the offer and the player knows he can move on if a top six club come in for him. I would try and loan or buy Sterling as well.

On the plus side, if he does go I'll get the chance to start a 'Bolasie Come Home' thread.

Well if he scores an creates more than bolasie did last season then it's justified. I fully appreciate your opinion but Townsend is not a bad player one bit. I guess by Christmas we will see where we stand.

Selling one of our best players when we nearly went down last season is just gob smacking.
Bolsie is 27 and at his peak as a player, his strength and pace scares defenders and has been a big part of our survival in this league so far.

So the American investment was all about the Ground then?

Bolasie - 26 games, 5 Goals, 4 assists
Townsend - 29 games, 8 goals, 4 assists (At Newcastle - 13 games, 4 goals)
Zaha - 34 games - 2 goals, 5 assists.

I wouldn't say there is a lack of ambition. Benteke, Tomkins, Townsend, Mandanda in and Gayle, Bolasie, McCarthy out.

I think teams will find it alot more difficult to frustrate us with the likes of Townsend and Benteke in the team.

Doubling up on Wilf and forcing Yannick wide to whip s*** balls in all day was just too easy.

I reckon he's plenty good enough. Just needs a shot.

Do you actually watch Palace games?

Bolasie is one of the best wingers in the league.

This will be the mistake that sees us relegated.

Our team is average as f*** without Bolasie and Zaha.

The season hasn't even begun yet

Best suggestion by a long shot is Brady.

I'm sorry but I find this comment a little ridiculous. You think lack of ambition has been a recurring theme? Please recall the club's position when CPFC2010 took over.. When they spoke about Premier league promotion most discounted that as normal wishful thinking. The growth and development over the last few years are down to the ambition of the club's management and owners.

The American investment was clearly allocated for stadium and infrastructure improvement and that was made completely transparent at the time.

While Bolasie is one of our best players (and one of my favourite) if the club can't bring in the quality of striker needed to progress the club they have to look at making a sale. This deal is the best that has even been rumoured for any of our players and it would be foolish to not consider it. How else are we supposed to get good striking options in? How else are we supposed to progress? I would say that if this money is responsibly reinvested in good attacking options in this window then this IS showing ambition.

Completely agree
