I brought that up to say he's wasting his time on trivial non-issues. Nothing more.

No, it's because he is a typical, careerist, moral vacuum of a politician. Granted, he is not alone in this disposition but anyone who claims to be a belguard of moral politics and offering 'different way' when getting elected and then breaks his promises, deserves scrutiny and ridicule.

It is obvious to all and sundry that he is setting himself as he next leader of the Labour Party and will say anything to get that.

Time will prove you right.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I doubt he'll do 8 years, as he will want to stand as leader at the next GE or be the leader after the GE should Labour actually stick with Corbyn until 2020.

His name is Sadiq, try and get at least that right.

Seems like the London mayoral position is indeed now seen to be the stepping stone into party leader.

It's the only semi-autonomous job a politician can get, other than speaker which means you've got no chance of being party leader.

The by-election is tomorrow apparently.

To be fair to him.....and I don't like his politics....so that isn't easy...but to be fair.

The cut to policing probably doesn't help in these matters.

Here in Wisbech everytime you see a Police car it's like spotting a fit bird in McDonalds.

The police cuts he claims is nonsense. London lost around 1,000 cops in the year, from 31,343 to 30,379.

Point noted, though I imagine population growth in London continues apace.
