What proof can you provide me with that I'm wrong?

McCarthy hasn't a single clean sheet to his name under us.

Wickham has one goal (a penalty) to his name under us, and hasn't even looked like scoring since he hit the post against Arsenal.

Mutch. I mean what can you even say about the man? He has produced f*ck all in 18 appearances now.

Lee, stunning goal against Stoke aside, is exactly the same as the above, although admittedly his game time has been more limited (perhaps because he isn't good enough).

Normally I can't stand all the negative posts especially if the team have the temerity to lose a game and Palace Talk goes into meltdown. ...BUT Albert'Street post does rightly question Pardew's signings so far. McCarthy and Mutch have been disappointing. Wickham is getting better but seems destined for the Heskey role.
Soure I think has been brilliant as was Cabaye earlier in the season.
I'm aware it's a squad game but the new additions haven't been ano improvement over the original squad and people should be able to question it without being shouted down.

I'd like to see 2 signings who are really going to challenge for a first team place and not be a 'decent back up'

You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name.

We got Adebayor and Gayle will sign a new contract.

That's it for us so hopefully Adebayor will find the net and bang in a few goals.

Strengthen in the summer I hope! Get rid of the s*** and get some decent squad players in at decent prices. I'm not complaining that we haven't wasted money by over payng on rubbish again.

Maybe because anything going on is being kept quiet instead of advertising to other teams who the targets are & risk any deal being derailed? Plenty of time to go yet.

I think all teams no who the targets are id say if players are not at any teams ground by now and talking business then they are virtually impossible to get any deal done within the time limit . As I said once again promised the signings and getting nothing !

Really? So how do we get 25 players on the pitch every week....

How is gayle anything of a transfer he plays for us anyway and he is utter s***. Championship player . He's had two seasons to prove his premiership standards and he hasn't by a long shot

Liverpool at home?

Gayle is not a target man. When he plays off a target man he's shown he can ne lethal.

It seems like transfer window day makes you a tad angry!

I didn't say he was did I? He's better than Campbell and if played up top with Wickham or Adebayor then it would work.

Who knows what Pardew has in mind. No point moaning about it. Would you rather we wasted more millions on over priced crap today?

We ain't making Europe (GOOD) and we ain't going down.

I'm sorry, but he really hasn't. Fifteen outstanding minutes in one game isn't "showing you are lethal," especially at this level. Failing to repeat the performance in over two years says rather more about how lethal you are (or not, as the case may be.)

If he has refused to move on today despite our efforts to sell him in a second consecutive window then the new contract makes sense. It's insurance against his value diminishing as his present contract enters its final year after this season and it gives Pards another six months to make a final decision. If Gayle doesn't underline his long-term value over the rest of this season I expect Pards will give him little choice but to move on our terms during the summer.

At the moment we're not in the position to have a squad of 25 who are all pushing for regular starts. For me our best 11, and hoping Adebeyor is going to be a success, would give any team a game. So looking at our back up players, Lee, Mutch, Kelly, jedinak, etc are not bad for the time being, and will hopefully over time be replaced by better.

Possibly not performed (yet) in accordance with expectations but just writing 's***' next to each of their names hardly advances the discussion.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I can't see us signing anyone IMHO, but as has been said on here, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
I would say that some of Pardew's signings have been questionable, but some have been great ie Cabaye and Souare. No point in Spunking money on players that are no better than what we got.

Personally if the only addition during this window is Adebayor then that's a really poor show.

I'd be very disappointed.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
