Good grief. Why does he want to play in the Championship? I don't understand. Neither do I. Best to move on and forget about him. Why anyone would want to join that shambles of a side baffles me. They are certainly boosting their midfield with the signings of Shelvey and Saivet.Thauvin whom they signed from Marseille for £12 Mill hasn't made any impact and looks a bit lightweight for the rigours of the PL As for joining Newcastle, perhaps part of the attraction is the stadium, crowds and passion for football up there. In terms of Home attendances, they have attracted over 50,000 in 3 of their last 4 home fixtures. 50,000 of masochists more like All they do is cling to past glories and spend all their time obsessing over Palace in their little online rag. "Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

Bagdad United probably attract 100,000 for their home games but I wouldn't want to sign for them. And Iraq is probably a better attraction than the North East. Red sky at night, Newcastle's alight

Red sky at night, Newcastle's alight Well I cannot profess to knowing anything about Iraqi teams. As for "Better attraction", I can assure you that there are some delightful areas in the North East.

£12M for Shelvey, £7M for Grabban! Has the whole world gone mad? It makes you wonder what some of our players are worth and makes you realise what a steal the price we paid for Cabaye was.

Oh there isn't a team called Bagdad United. I made that up. It was a poor attempt at sarcasm.

They are called Baghdad FC, actually. And they can only hold 5000. God, get your facts right! That's right Willo, I use Wiki too Thank you for the information.I am enlightened ! If I was reliant on 'Wiki' as many on here believe, I would have probably attempted to look up the details myself.

Steve Browett was quoted as saying last season that Chamakh's goal in the last game of the season was worth £1m to us as it moved us higher up the table. If Shelvey is the ingredient that will save Newcastle from relegation then he is well worth the fee and likewise with Grabban.

He is one of the worst England international players I've seen in a while. At 12 million, he's probably about 5 million overpriced as well. Delighted we dodged that bullet, money can be used on a lot better in this window with any luck.
