Knowing an agnt of two of his recent team mates I dont want him anywhere near my club.
Yes i know he scores goals if given a short term deal. but given a long term deal he'll do jack s*it and cause disruption in the dressing room. no thanks.

I know someone who worked tin the Spurs press office. We shouldn't do this without a lot of stipulations on behaviour.

Would be very surprised if we are thinking of entertaining this kind of character. I would be very disappointed if this deal goes ahead. Would not offer him a 6 minute deal let alone 6 months

Actually I may be changing my mind on this. This is what a pal of mine who worked at Spurs said. He can be brilliant in the dressing room, if he's motivated and loved.

It amuses me no end that whenever the press write something negative about Palace, they're liars and w@ankers but when they write something negative about someone or something other than Palace, everyone's willing to take it on faith that it's 100% true and accurate. Bottom line: Everyone has good sides and bad sides, ups and downs, something to give and something to take. The issue for us is simply whether we can manage Adebayor in such a way that the good over-rides the negatives. Edited by sydtheeagle (06 Jan 2016 9.58pm)

If he can score goals and keep us in the top half of table or even push for Europa then let's sign him. Who cares if he's a diva or shaves sheep before he goes to bed ? If he can score goals he's better than any striker we've got at the moment

Why are people pissing their pants at him being at the club past the end of the season if we get him? If he's s***e we sack him off and if he's any good we'll get good value and he'll be off somewhere far sunnier next season!!!

I don't much care about what is/isn't the truth about his upbringing, attitude and where he puts his money. What is true is that he hasn't been that bothered about playing football for the last few years so why would he suddenly find his appetite again with us? He's more interested in pursuits outside of playing football, which is fair enough, his decision, but we need someone hungry and willing to fight. All the ability in the world is nothing if you have no desire to use it.
This is not really accurate. Adebayor has scored goals wherever he has played, and he's played at some pretty impressive clubs. His last stint as a player ended eighteen months ago when he was Spurs' leading scorer and delivered big time for Tim Sherwood who had reinstated him in the Spurs side. If there is a knock on Adebayor, it's that he has always started fast at new clubs, then lost interest once he's secured a long-term contract. In other words, he's motivated by money. But that won't be a problem on a short-term deal at Palace. What we have to do is weigh the major negative (character, personal motivation) against the positive, which has been described thusly: This is a player with a full breathtaking range of centre-forward skills at his disposal, who can score any kind of goal against any team. Cast as a target man, he can also play No10 with a rare ability to link and protect the ball, plus that wonderfully frictionless way of moving, slightly menacing on those skinny little fine-point ankles below all that massed and coiled power, scuttling along like a very graceful, frightening robot spider. What an athlete, too! Adebayor’s leap is the stuff of dressing-room legend, an ability to spring honed during his childhood when he would tie a ball to the ceiling and spend hours leaping up to head it. Rumour has it he was even timed quicker than Theo Walcott over the full 100m during his time at Arsenal. My view is that it's a risk worth taking for the following reasons: 1. If fit, Adebayor is better than any other forward we can sign. Easily. It IS a risk but in my view a risk well worth taking. Edited by sydtheeagle (06 Jan 2016 1.04pm) ^^^^^^^ This is the best post I have read on here in a long long long time! I can't be bothered to re-iterate things that have been said a million times on this thread, bad beaviour, poisin in the deressing room, unfit blah blah blah. What I think you will get is an on his day world class striker. How many of them have we got at Palace? Yes he hasnt played in a while but unlike Chamakh that has been out for a while, he hasnt been injured. He hast got injured, come back form an injury and then done the same injury again. His footballing CV is superb. Arsenal-Man City-Real Madird-Spurs. you don't get signed by and score goals at all those clubs if you don't have something about you. Everyone was raving about CW learning from Murray before Murray left, the same Murray who's pinnacle of their career was playing for us, well how about CW learning a bit from watching this guy play football! No he isn't match fit, but CW is back for Villa I think so hopefulyl can ge ta run of games under his belt, bring Adebayor on for the last 15-20 to get some game time under his belt plus reserve games and he will be ready to go. For me, on a short term deal this would be superb.

The papers that bring you mocked up fake photos of British soldiers supposedly abusing Iraqi prisoners, the papers that hack the mobiles of dead school children, the papers that tell you refugees and the out of work are taking the bread from your mouth whilst their owners change their nationalities to pay no tax....all of a sudden they say someone is a douche and it MUST be true.... For whats its worth - I see this as very much a back up should our targets not be available in this window.

Tough one, this. Clearly a really top player when he's on form/can be arsed but does have a habit of becoming a bit of a c*nt. Syd's right, he's better than any other striker we could sign. He won't be ready soon though, and we need a striker now really. Imagine how funny it would be if he scored against Spurs in a couple of weeks' time.
