A bit of a jaded vibe about the place today, really. The players must be mentally f*cked after the last few weeks (and who can blame them) and to come out second best against possibly the best team we've seen at Selhurst all season is certainly no disgrace. In spite of all that, they didn't give us a dicking and City had to work hard throughout. I can see no negatives.

In some ways, I don't really mind losing today: as someone has said, it was a bit of a reality check in the face of a certain level of complacency amongst elements of our support. This is a f*cking tough division and we really have punched above our weight this season. Next season is going to be just as tough and we should accept that we probably wont improve on this season's final position.

Still, what a totally f*cking awesome season it's been. A proper vintage to stay in the memory. Safety with three games to spare seems almost surreal and, personally, I wish it was over now so we can start preparing for the next thrilling instalment.

The love and pride I feel for this club can't be expressed in mere words..

Completely agree with this. I arrived at Selhurst happy with Palace, and I left happy with Palace.

What a season.

Very disappointing. Glad it was only two! They never got out of second gear and looked capable of scoring anytime they had to. We just didn't give them a game. Too many misdirected passes that made us look like the team we were, and not the team we had become. I know we were up against real quality but that's no excuse for simple errors.

At least I think something was confirmed today because
I think Murray looks completely ought of his depth at this level. No ball retention. No instinctive strikes. Slow of thought and movement. Caught offside too easily. I suspect he will be elsewhere by the start of next season.

sorry to quote your post because there are a few on here i am
annoyed with. we just lost 2-0 to the team who will probably win the league and people are slating murray and jerome. we were outclassed because man city are better. yaya toure is worth more than our club so please enjoy the next 2 games. every player has done us proud and has every right to have an off.game. WE R STAYING UP

I know all that is true, and I am as proud of what has been achieved as anyone else. I also know everyone can have an off day and that we were playing the probable champions, who were well motivated.

I was just disappointed that we gave the ball away so often with poor passes that we made it easier than it ought to have been. I didn't expect a win, but I hoped to see the same Palace we have seen in recent weeks. Who knows, it might have been so different if Liverpool had won and we had not conceded so early!

Would you be able to express it by the medium of interpretive dance in the middle of the centre circle next Monday night ???

Only if you promise to be naked.

Promise ??? Its a given....

See if you can persuade DanH as well. I think I can confidently predict the show of a lifetime.

Oh I somehow don't think he will need his arm up his back to join in

I can see something very much like this

In recent weeks when we won 5 on the bounce we never had to come from behind to win. I feared the worst when Man City scored.Take Yaya Toure out of that side and we would have got something - he was immense. Also we made Demichelis look good which perhaps speaks volumes for our attacking threat !!!!

How different it all looks now, losing 0-2 and IT DOESN'T MATTER.
Could anyone seriously say that we'd be content to lose a game,at home, with only a couple of fixtures left, when the season started.....I think the team might be suffering from altitude sickness this high up the table.
Roll on season 2014-15!!!

We weren't too bad today - there is no shame losing to a side of that quality. They had more to play for today and it showed. The club need to be ready for next year, starting with some good strikers.

Agree that Palace looked a bit jaded (even Jules was a bit hesitant), but thought Jerome played well.

Despite previous posts, also thought Gayle and Murray (and Ince) did OK. Perhaps they should be in the starting line-up for the next two matches.

Jedi looked f***ed and off the pace today for me - no surprise given how much he has given of himself this year

don't understand this "need for a reality check" and "complacency among elements of our support"...

Where are all of these complacent deluded Palace fans?

I see a united club from owners to manager to supporters who have their feet on the ground.

Its a bit like those who always want to have a pop at the anti-Pulis brigade - where exactly are the Anti-Pulis brigade?

It will be a travesty if Pulis doesn't get Manager of the Year, whoever wins the league his achievement is so clearly the most outstanding managerial achievement, far better than Brendan Rogers.
