Who knows if the story is true or not, but you do have to think is this why Dougie Freedman went? You do have question why Parish went on holiday in the transfer window?

TP must be getting more and more frustrated by the day as all the other clubs around us are bringing in new players. There are only a certain number of players available that would improve on what we have and Hull, Cardiff,Fulham,Swansea,Norwich,West Ham, West Brom are all looking at the same players, If we cannot match them financially we will end up bringing the same standard forwards that we already have. If like Browett says their is a sizeable budget, added with that the funds that TP must have made available by getting players like Kebe off the wage bill then between the mass of people involved in transfer negotiations we need to bite the bullet and get our business done if we want to survive this season.

Younger hungrier players with resale value over 30y/o+ with high wages and no resale value any day. Makes financial sense...I wouldn't want us to sign peter crouch on 50k a week...not in a month of Sundays.

Don’t get me wrong I am a massive Parish fan and think he has done more for our club than anyone in decades but I believe his role at the club needs addressing before we lose our 3rd manager in quick succession. Parish has no real knowledge of football, he is NOT a football man yet professes to know everything about the game. Why did Freedman leave? I believe he had big issues with Parish so wanted out. Parish later admitted in hindsight he could and should of done more to keep Freedman at Palace.

Pretty true I reckon...also can you imagine the flack the board would have got if DF was in charge when the Zaha transfer happend, and KG and GM went off the boil etc etc and he didn't get us promoted...lots of stuff about in-experenced managers on the cheap being left in charge!

I can't help but feel there is too much interference from SP. TP would have known the transfer budget for January and would have known the salary limits. As long as the players he wants fits with both of those he should be allowed to get in anyone he wants. He is responsible for the playing staff and one of his objectives is to keep us up or so we are led to believe. Let him do his job without false promises or one hand tied behind his back. If he think crouch can do a job and keep us up and is within wage structure and transfer budget then he should be allowed to get him. If your example concerning a player that the manager wants is true, that fits the wagebill, within transfer budget, willing to come etc. and the owners say no then there is an issue between them regarding broken promises. However nobody can fix a transfer to meet these requirements as they are fluid based on the negotiations. So there might well be no promises broken but the fact that the owners and manager do not wish for the club to be taken for a ride ? Personally I would rather know that there are some limits being imposed than an open cheque book philosophy. The manager might go in the summer but I don't think it will be down to broken promises.
