At least he kept that shot down. If it was Bolasie we'd still be waiting for it to come down.

I'd find a place for him in the squad. He holds up the ball well and is big and strong. Something that we are missing up front.

He may not be the most skilled striker we have but he does help others get in position. Can't doubt his passion, and he works hard.

We may be in a position that we don't have many other choices.

Good to see Garvan turning out for the U21s this afternoon - hopefully he can impress with a decent display.

He came on in the 3-1 win over Sunderland in August and did the same job as against Stoke. Kept the opposition from the ball up front and saw out a victory.
I'd vote to have in the 25 man squad - I have a feeling Pulis feels the same way

I'd have him in the 25 he holds the ball up brilliantly...the problem with his goal scoring (lack of)is that he automatic targets the goalkeeper and seems to be consistently accurate in doing so...someone needs to re-programme his brain to target 1 yard either side

If a player with his limited ability is part of the 25 man squad, it shows just how weak we are at bringing in quality.

He isn't going to score goals, but he played his role on perfection yesterday. Defending a 1-0 lead, he is the perfect player. A defensive striker if you will. Opinions. I'd bring him in.

Was his job yesterday to squander 2 gilt-edged chances then rather than just burying the game? We had several extra minutes of squeaky bum time because he is so low on confidence in front of goal that he tried to side foot it in from 25 yards rather than race forwards onto a practically open goal and then take it with composure.

Not for me thanks. He tries hard but isn't good enough and I don't think you can afford to carry him on the bench every week. On top of that I feel like he is one of those players who will just stifle the development of some of our academy lads.

If we don't sign any forwards in this window I'd have him in the squad to take over the Kevin Phillips bench warming vacancy. I do agree that as a player to hold the ball up in the corners to see our a 1 goal lead he does the job.
