does anyone remember oldam away in the 80's,we left the ground, there was only about 20 of us walking back to the railway station, when it kicked off from nowhere we were outnumbered got a kicking and a fat lip for my troubles.the lads who orgnised the special train were trying to fend off a few blokes with knifes with bits of wood from a fence,i remember a bloke with a fila jacket running up the railway tracks bit hairy,

i remember brighton game when we beat them 5-0 ia friend of mine was one of the top boys at millwall i was quite surprised to see him at the game with quite a few savory charactors,he had brought a few top boys from chelsea, spurs, west ham and so on i asked him what they were here for he said to fight the brighton fans.

Not doubting you, but why would top boys from those clubs come to fight Brighton?

Alot of it went back to the late 80's when we all used to meet up in a club called limelights in shaftsbury av. We'd do unsavory business deals with other firms and arrange how many times to pull the cord on our train so the millwall or another team could pull in to euston/kings cross at same time. ive been nicked with arsenal at villa in semis and with millwall at brighton and some of those boys have been nicked with us . It was quite common if palace wasn;t playing to go with another top firm as we was all known to each other. Not sure about the brighton 5-0 though i was a good few years into a life ban by then and most of us grew up.
i could tell some stories about this stuff and maybe 1 day i will

Can remember a lot of Palace teamed up with Chelsea for their game with Brighton away, Brighton was carnage on the Friday night. Palace also went to Luton when the ground was smashed up.

Football hooliganism carries a great deal of responsibility for the likes of Hillsborough and Haysel along with the isolated deaths over the years. Less seriously, it also keeps thousands of fans away from grounds that they would otherwise attend. Meanwhile, many idiots on here look back fondly.

I don't like to term people on here as "Idiots", however that said, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments expressed.
