You don't ignore a bloke who scored over 30 goals last season but it's a huge expectation for Glenn to come back firing them in after such an awful injury. Wow what a prospect though!

Agreed, it will be very tough for Glenn to find any type of consistent form after being out so long and as tends to happen with injuries like this players get injuries to other muscles while coming back.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

As Rovers paid £8m for him 15 months ago, may he not be a little out of our price range?

Agreed. He's only increased his value since then as well, having scored 28 goals in his debut season in the Championship. I'd imagine it'll be closer to £10m to sign him. Brilliant if we could pull it off though.

Where would this alleged rumour have originated from as I doubt whether Tony Pulis would have made any contact with him and no-one else would have known who was on his wishlist

After a 36 million loss last season , probably another huge loss this season, with promotion unlikely they may just take a large fee upfront for him. From memory I believe the deal was upto 8 million with add ons.

They're still going to be expecting to recover their investment at the very least. He's only improved in his time there, so his market value should do the same.

As good as I think he is, assuming it would take something between £8-12m, I don't think it's what we need. Rhodes is the sort of player who, if not scoring, is pretty ineffective. He relies heavily on decent service, and he is exceptionally clinical when it comes. I'm not sure that's the sort of player we need in a relegation scrap.

Thats my point they havent even paid 8 million for him , 8 milllion upfront would probably get him , but you are right , he isnt the player we need , we need a natural goalscorer who can get goals from nothing and they are like gold dust.

I'm fairly sure that should Blackburn sell Rhodes before they have finished paying Huddersfield, they are required to pay off the remainder of what is owed, and Huddersfield are due 20% of any profit made over the initial £8m fee.

For that sort of money I would rather have Jermaine Defoe.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

Good player, whether they would sell/he would come is questionable. We have no idea if it's true, and Chamakh is not on loan - he is on a year contract FFS.

Truth be told, Rhodes is a great player, but Blackburn have always stated that he isn't for sale. He did run Murray a close second in the Championship top scorers charts last season.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

Me too, much more dangerous and lethal in front of goal.
