I am too young to remember Thatchers era, but if you were lower class like my family, you struggled, while the rich benefited. Heartless bitch, good riddance, I say.

Shame about the many millions of other from good working stock who didn't do so well what with being directly affected by having their jobs taken away and having less money to bring up their families.

I am too young to remember Thatchers era, but if you were lower class like my family, you struggled, while the rich benefited. Heartless bitch, good riddance, I say. She accelerated the demise of our manufacturing base....But they were loss making and I'd imagine even Foot would have been forced to down size or restructure them at some point. So the working classes in those fields who couldn't re-train due to age or intelligence or wouldn't move are probably justified in disliking her....For under her they ended up on low benefits. She did nothing for those in economically depressed areas especially in the North....Her implicit answer to those without work there was 'move to where the work was'. The working class who weren't prepared to work didn't do well...Though does a successful country worry about the living standards of the feckless? A lot of the working class did ok.....As is the case with many governments things were ok if you got on with it. It was the majority of the working class who kept voting for her. There are too many things that Thatcher did, or how she did them, that I didn't agree with to list.....However, she receives far more hate than she deserves from people who...In my estimation just get carried away with emotionalism over reason.

People who eulogise her as the 'greatest prime minister ever' might want to take a closer and more objective look at her record. People who are celebrating her death are behaving deplorably and ought frankly to be ashamed of themselves.
